Italy has confirmed participation in Eurovision Song Contest 2012. They will automatically qualify for the final as part of the "Big Five". Their entry was decided through the 62nd edition of Festival di Sanremo. It was held between February 14 and February 18, 2012. The artist sent to Baku is Nina Zilli. First she was supposed to sing "Per sempre" in Baku but they changed song to "L'amore è femmina".Italy in ESC 2012[/u][/size]

In the Final 10 songs were performed. The 3 with the most votes then went through another round of voting and performed once again.
