Okay so in these couple of editions the borrowing rules of , , & have been quite a big talking point (Because of Coldplay in #11 for , etc.) And i'm the kind of host who doesn't like to do big changes without asking for opinions of you guys before doing them. So the suggestion which gets the most support would be coming to an effect from FoIM #13 onwards!
If you could just vote in the poll i would be so thankful to you all I have some suggestions made ready for you to vote on.
Okay so i will explain on how these will work:
- No borrowing for any nation + no autonome regions = means no borrowing is allowed for any nation other than maybe only Hong Kong and there will be no autonome regions (, , etc.) allowed starting from #13
- Unification of United Kingdom = As the most talked about thing is the songs borrowed from this country, the unification of would be the easiest way to fix things i think. Only that the user who becomes the holder of would need to be decided by the current holders of , , & . This has been in thinking for me a long time actually so this is not a direct reference to the confusions recently discussed.
- Restricted borrowing = This means that if the country wants to use songs, for example if would want to borrow from , the user would first need to get their songs accepted by the holder of and then the songs would need to be accepted by the host of FoIM. If the country one is intending to borrow is not taking part, then only the acceptance of the host would be needed. This may also be converted into borrowing from only specific parts of the country or something.
- Everything is good as it is! = Everything will stay as they have been since FoIM #1
You can also make your own suggestion on this topic to help FoIM in the future so suggest your format below if you have any! if someone makes a suggestion, please leave a like to the comment where the format you support is suggested so i can see who supports what
And sorry again for any confusions these rules may have cause for the last couple of editions. I want to treat everyone as equal so i decided to make this poll

I don't think the unification of UK will help because that will be 4 player after 1 country to participate as

I like the restricted borrowing. Borrowing nations should ask the HoD of the original country if the entry can be used.
With the United Kingdom situation people need to do research !!!! there are absolutely loads of singer from England Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland. No borrowing or unifying should be needed.

Yes the most famous acts can be found in England (which has a huge plethora of talent that is not utilised in online contests), but that's not to say that, for example, Wales does not have a high amount of talented artists. As other people have said, you've just got to look. Now, for my opinion on the other rules... In regards to no autonomous regions I support this, however the Faroe Islands have the same status as England and Scotland in Denmark as far as I'm aware, so they should stay either way. I like borrowing so long as exceptionally famous/notable artists do not get borrowed.

I am also from the UK i actually live in Wales, yes you do need to look but you have to think about what the taste of music that people have, and my taste of music there isn't alot of Welsh music that fits with my music taste. so that is why i like to borrow as Wales because i can send the music i like as my home country. i think that is unfair that you cant borrow the better artist because there isnt really a fair chance for the other countries
