I did not like any song from the final, but "That Night" is my current winner of all the selected songs.

It's indeed 2014 all over again! The singer has a great voice, but the song is too boring imo. The guitars make it better. All in all it's a for now.

Yesterday I published the final rankings from both jury and viewers, but here are the full results with all the percentages and all voting options separately. From the left in the table are: Televoting (Calls/SMS); WEB voting (supernova.lsm.lv); Spotify voting (how many times played); Alfa voting (Alfa is a shoping centre in Riga, where the voting was open a week before the final); Viewers votes (all combined); Jury votes; finishing with the final ranking.

Nice song and vocals, but it meanders too much and never hits a climax

The Spotify and Alfa voting must go. People in Latvia don't mind both voting options... what we do mind this year is the jury. They've never been so bad like this year. What I mean is - justified criticism is all good and needed, but this year instead of that they basically buried everyone with their negative comments, except for Laime Pilnīga, Carousel and Dziļi Violets ft. Kozmens. All the other 5 were criticised as much as possible, especially Samanta Tīna and Markus Riva. That's why people here think that the winner was decided by jury even before the final (maybe even semis), so they had to do everything to make Carousel look like the best option and make it win. But we'll never know the truth...

I really wanted Double Faced Eels, but if anything, Carousel is just as good of a choice.
It's a very classy chill Indie folk song, perfectly fit for a campfire site, sitting and relaxing while enjoying the surroundings. I love how this song isn't exactly a normal ballad where it's only instrument is a guitar, neither a catchy folk-ish song, but is probably right in between in the middle, it's genius. I very much love the instrumentation, and the small uses of guitar, drums, as well as a xylophone and the "western" guitar sound at some places. Makes the song sound like every corner of it is being used, and is neither empty or overfilled with sound. Her voice also really fits the whole song, and increases the magic of it all. The way they also presented the live performance at Supernova was also fantastically done, almost like it was it's very own music video.
I won't be awarding this a , mostly because the song doesn't do that much for me, but I still enjoy and love everything they've put into the song.
Will it qualify to the finals? Definitely possible. Call me insane, but I believe in the simplicity in this song. If they can contribute as much class as they did during Supernova, I can see people really enjoy this at Tel Aviv. Supernova may have been one of the weaker selections this year, but this can definitely work out.
Overall, I'm very glad Latvia decided for Carousel. Definitely one of the better choices, and a good addition to a more classy side of Eurovision. I hope for the very best of luck to Carousel and Latvia through out their Eurovision 2019 journey!
