Cliché and cheesy. The awful key change really put it into bottom 10 territory.

In other news, I'm convinced this might possibly be the best Armenian entry of all time.

Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

/ This was one of the first entries I listened to after all the songs were out and I had my little sit-down-and-listen event at a local cafe. People expected something similar to "Half A Goddess", then “Walking Out” came out, I gave it a listen… and I was impressed! It’s not “Half A Goddess” - but “Walking Out” was written by the same man who wrote Armenia’s 2014 entry for Aram MP3, which means good things! And the lyrics basically follow the title. The song starts out with a very familiar mainstream pop sound; I don’t even really know how else to describe it. A bit methodical, thumping, and a choppy vocal that works really well with the beat and instrumentation. I’m all for it. The song then picks up in the final 1:20 or so, much to my love and appreciation, with those electro-pop hits between Srbuk’s oooh-ooohs! It gives the song a huge sound, perfect for an arena. And then… 40 seconds remaining, she breaks it down in the bridge, and then… the note. Yesssss, the note. That’s what sold it for me. It’s insane how high it goes! I am a bit concerned about a couple things. Her enunciation is not perfect, which I haven’t really had to say about anyone this year until now, so that’s shocking but not a song-killer (although the song is lyrically heavy). What I’ve developed a concern for since rating this song is her performance skills on stage, which go from being overly confident and shaky at best, or frustrated with sound technicians at the worst. If you don’t know what I mean, look up the Spain pre-party event vid. I am certain this will qualify, but her personal vocal on the night is what will move this up or down the scoreboard. She’s been getting a lot of love from beyond the community, so I’m sure she’ll be fine. But that first listen to the live studio version? I was blown away, and Europe should be as well. Top 10 material.
