Michael Kealy OUT. NOW.
You know when you're from a shit Eurovision country when your expectations are super low and the broadcaster still manages to disappoint you. Who thought this was anything more than bland and dirgey? Who legitimately sat in a room and was like yes! this is the one!. It's a piss poor, half-arsed attempt. Only yesterday RTE Radio spent the day playing music by Irish artists for the Choice Awards. There's no chance this would've even got a play during the whole day. It doesn't even sound like something from current music in Ireland yet it somehow manages to fit RTE's vanilla persona to a t.

It's not the goodbye that hurts but the flashbacks that follow.

I really wonder what people at RTÉ were thinking when they chose this song, it's honestly just so bland and has nothing going for it Like if our broadcaster really thinks this will qualify then okay x I'll give it a to be generous but of course I'm disappointed in my country once again, and well I don't see us getting even close to the final. I'd love us to go back to pre-2016 style of choosing entries so that we get a choice in the matter but knowing our stubborn broadcaster they won't do it. #TG4ForEurovision

Did they forget they have to go through the semi-finals? What is this? Even Germany and the UK in their worst days would've said no to this because they know better. So disappointed right now

Unlike Latvia or Denmark this has no parts that I can really enjoy but it isn't horrible to give it a 1

I'm home from work and actually remembered nothing about the song except that it was called 22. The song really goes nowhere, and after getting a decent representative in Ryan last year I can only think that no ~known~ artist wanted to go to the contest due to the very very vocal anti-Israel brigade in Ireland. I don't think RTE would care if they NQd just so any backlash dissipates fast. No doubt they'll be debating it on Claire Byrne live again before the contest!
Nevertheless, it's disappointing to be let down yet again. Just can't fathom how a group of people could decide this song had a shot.
