Okay so today the head of Azerbaijani Delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest announced that our representative has not been chosen and that the entrant will be revealed around early March. INFE Azerbaijan has provided precise information in the previous years, but this year it does not seem like that.

Okay so today the head of Azerbaijani Delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest announced that our representative has not been chosen and that the entrant will be revealed around early March. INFE Azerbaijan has provided precise information in the previous years, but this year it does not seem like that. Do you know anything more about what happened? What did Chingiz himself say @_@ I will quote some details from INFE Azerbaijan's interview with Azerbaijani delegation for ESC to shed more light on the current situation. "On January 24th, we have announced casting for composers, both Azerbaijani and international authors were invited to take part. This year there was great feedback and a large applications number. We received over 350 songs. The most notably, songs came from Azerbaijani and European authors, and from America, Australia and even Brazil. Songwriters can still submit their song today, on February 7th, till the end of the day in Baku via email address eurovisionaz2019@gmail.com. Ictimai TV Channel and the national jury continues to work on the artist’s selection and the contest song’s selection as well. Now we are waiting for the end of the competition for composers and are planning to record the best demos with the finalists. We will announce Azerbaijan’s representative officially not earlier than March after the national jury’s decision. Follow the official Ictimai TV Channel news - the winner’s name will be announced there. We intend to show on the Eurovision 2019’s stage something new, trending, so to speak. Our main goal is for the audience to remember it, fall in love and give their votes to Azerbaijan." Chingiz Mustafayev, however, has remained very silent on the subject.

The head of Azerbaijani delegation promised our entry for the ESC 2019 would have ethnic elements, and based on the teaser, one could say that it is true. The video gives me ethno-art-pop vibes, something that I wouldn't expect from my country.
However, it is confirmed that Isa Malikov, composer of "Skeletons" (DiHaj), composed our current entry as well. Thus, knowing his style, we can actually expect an alternative entry.
"She is a killer" - Is that a song name or a reference to the representative? Overwhelming majority of Azerbaijani ESC audience still believe that speculations about Chingiz Mustafayev are true. Nonetheless, if the sentence implies the latter, one should expect either Samira or Leman to represent Azerbaijan in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Style-wise, Leman would suit ethno-art-pop music more compared to the rest of the finalists, however, it is too early to predict on that.
