The song I chose has a strong connection with Italy (so it fits with my ordinary country) since both Tina Arena's parents were born and raised in Sicily. I also wanted to send it a long time ago to Retro WWWSC but unfortunately, none of her multiple connections with France fit with the rules. After a very long waiting I'm finally able to send this song released in 1999. Tina Arena was a complete beginner in French at that period, and needed the lyrics to be translated in order to understand them, which made her interpretation even more remarkable.
Timeslot: 3:01
Bonus videos: interviews with Tina Arena speaking French and Italian where she speaks about her family and her career.

Song reveal - Þórir:Okay so initially I thought we had to go retro with our countries and I was a bit stumped, I'd considering sending Juluka or Savuka (Johnny Clegg's old multi-racial anti-apartheid bands) but since realising its a free for all I can't resist sending some good old Icelandic guitar party music - Presenting my entry for FoIM 35..... Land & Synir - Terlín Timeslot - 2:19+
Welcome to one of the first bands I ever heard, Land & Synir! These guys are from the southern village of Hvolsvöllur and this song in particular first came out in 1998 - It's a real fun anthem to sing along to while still retaining a very modern feel - Lets hope it does well!
Since there is no video, for the recap I found a timelapse driving video from Reykjavík out to the countryside that fits the tune fairly well to use as the visual for the recap! (Timeslot for this - 0:00+, right from the start!)
