COLORADO ENTRY ANNOUNCEMENT
"Nightlight" - ILLENIUM, Annika Wells 1:03+
After Colorado placed a promising 11th place in Own USAvision Song Contest's premiere edition, state broadcaster KDVR is excited to continue their participation in the contest. The act and song was already selected. Musician, DJ, and record producer ILLENIUM accompanied with vocals by Annika Wells will represent the Centennial State in Alaska for the second OUSC. They will perform the track "Nightlight."
Nicholas D. Miller, better known as ILLENIUM, was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in San Francisco, California. He started making electronic music in 2008, but decided to pursue it more earnestly in 2012. Since 2013, he lives in Denver, Colorado and released three albums, becoming one of the bigger names in Denver's music scene. He's no stranger to the "Own" series of song contests. In collaboration with King Deco, they represented Jordan in the 16th Own Asiavision Song Contest in Mumbai, India, where they finished in a respectable 8th place. After going international, ILLENIUM is excited to be in his home country to represent the state he now calls home.
Annika Wells is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. She has written songs for BTS, Steve Aoki, and Benjamin Ingrosso to name a few. ILLENIUM is another musician she has worked with in the past, and she is eager to bring their new track "Nightlight" into the OUSC stage.
The Coloradan delegation wishes ILLENIUM and Annika Wells the best of luck!

Mississippi
Corinth, November 17, 2020 - After we had announced our participation in the second edition of Own USAvision Song Contest that will be hosted by the contest's first winner, Alaska, back on November 15. Now it's time to reveal our second entrant and entry!
Please welcome...
!Maty Noyes!
23 years old singer-songwriter, Madeline Ashley Noyes, will represent Mississippi in the upcoming edition of OUSC.
Grew up in Corinth, Mississippi and has a sister named Abby and a brother named Grant. Her mother signed her up for piano lessons at a young age, but she decided the piano wasn't for her. At age 12 she asked for an acoustic guitar and was writing her own songs within a week. Her first composition at age 12 was a song called "Bigger", which she describes as being "about a girl who was really pretty, but didn't think she was pretty, so she was too afraid to kiss anyone. So her lips got so big that they fell off." Her early influences included the likes of The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye and James Brown. She says she hated school, didn't feel like she fit in and "didn't really get along with anyone", and had no desire to attend college after finishing high school.
At age 16 she convinced her parents to allow her to move to Nashville to pursue a career in music. She played open mic nights as often as possible and made connections in the music business. She later moved to Los Angeles in further pursuit of a career in music.
She will perform "New Friends" from Love Songs from a Lolita EP.
2:22+ thank you escanton for the suggestion, although I already know this song...
We wish her best of luck! See you in Alaska!
