Artist Announced Kinshasa, 29 March 2021 - Yesterday, Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and countless cities across the large Central African nation erupted into celebration, as Tshegue managed to go from a measly 7th in the semi, to 6th in the final, barely edging out the African music icon Salif Keita for the final AQ spot by a single point. With a spot in the final confirmed, a new lens will be shared with Kinshasa-Congolese music. The artist in question is none other than
Céline Banza
Céline Banza is a Congolese singer-songwriter and guitarist. Born in Kinshasa, she moved in early 2010 with her family to the city of Kisangani in the center of the inland province of Tshopo with her family. 2 years later, she moved back to Kinshasa tostudy musicology at the National Institute of Arts where she met her band mates. In 2017, Banza made a brief appearance on The Voice Afrique Francophone, where she got a single chair turn from Asalfo, a member of Ivory Coast 2 Magic System, performing Marvin Gaye's song "Sexual Healing", and was eliminated in the battles. She won the 2019 edition of the RFI Discovery Awards, an award that celebrates various African musicians. She was chosen from among the ten finalists for the quality of her melodies and her voice. Charlotte Dipanda, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Fally Ipupa, Josey, Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Oumou Sangaré, Singuila, and her old coach on the voice, Asalfo, were part of this jury. The artist, who just turned 24 a little over a month ago will set some new records, not only as the youngest artist to represent the DRC, but also for the first time, a language not from the Kinshasa proper area will represent the nation, as Céline's song will be in the Ngbandi language, found in the Équateur province in the north-west of the nation will be the language she'll perform in. The song will be revealed in a few day's time.

ZIMBABWE CONFIRMS AND REVEALS THE 6TH ACT!
Harare, 29 March 2021 - It was announced by the Zimbabwean broadcaster after the final of the Own Africavision Song Contest 5 at Johannesburg that Zimbabwe will participate in the next edition of OAfSC in Mauritius!
"Despite getting a pre-last place with only 10 points, we are still glad to have a chance to perform our iconic performance in Johannesburg. Enzo's performance was talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it. It was a moment that the Zimbabwean will never forget. And because of that I am glad to tell that you can expect Zimbabwe performing in Mauritius! Our next artist has been selected internally but we are currently deciding between 2 songs and we will announce our 6th entry once the decision is made! I hope the OAfSC viewers will be pleased once they know who we selected as this artist is one of the artist people would like to see the most and it's finally time for them to perform on the Own Africavision Song Contest's stage." said The Zimbabwean HoD after the results.
So... after all of the talk, who will represent Zimbabwe this time?

After a successful hosting in Johannesburg, we're ready to announce the country's presence in Mauritius. We're really glad to have welcomed all 46 delegations in our country and have worked hard to deliver you the great show, where our own entrant Sho Madjozi ended 13th, a really respectable result in our first Direct Qualification. We're ready to go back to the semifinals hoping to be able to make it through to the grand final once again. Kaapstad Musiekfees will obviously be used once again, and we can already announce that the three acts fighting for the ticket to OAfSC are gonna be Lee Cole, NONZWAKAZI and Sino Msolo.
