São Paulo, March 24th, 2023 BRAZIL REAVEALS YOUR REPRESENTATIVE!!! "Bem no fim do livro O soldado atirou no rei Pôs um fim à guerra E ergueu suas mãos ao céu" The Artist The band Gram was formed in São Paulo in 2002. Sergio Guilherme Filho (vocals - guitar - piano), Luiz Ribalta (guitar - vocals), Marcello Pagotto (bass - synthesizer - vocals), Marco Loschiavo (guitar - programming), and Fernando Falvo (drums - percussion) independently released their debut album, 'Gram,' in 2003. The album received considerable attention and received various accolades from the music press. The music video for the song "Você pode ir na Janela" was frequently played on Brazilian MTV. The band's music was influenced by Los Hermanos, specifically the album 'Bloco do Eu Sozinho.' In 2004, the record label Deckdisc re-released the band's debut album. During this time, Gram performed several shows, including the MADA festival in Natal in 2004 and the Abril Pro Rock festival in Recife the following year. In 2005, Gram released the album 'MTV Apresenta Gram,' recorded live in both DVD and CD formats. The band's second album, 'Seu Minuto, Meu Segundo,' was released in September 2006. Unexpectedly, the band disbanded the following year. In this 139th edition of Retro WWWSC, the artist we chose to represent Brazil is Gram, singing the song "O Rei do Sol". Song: O Rei do Sol Timeslot: 0:45+

Let me change tactics for this edition. After an unknown song I randomly stumbled across, it's time for a classical Züri West - Fische versänke Timeslot: 0:44+ Picture for the postcard (the same as last time): images.app.goo.gl/Ko2bQAKUtGMoa2336I know this is a live performance in TV, but it's exactly what the song sounds like. The other day I found out that I've sent this band - one of the most popular ones we ever had - only once and that being astonishing 111 editions ago. Thinking about which song of theirs I could go for, it appears that I fear hardly any of the ones I had in mind are contest friendly. The one I finally picked is rather boring, but it's also somewhat catchy. Lyrically it's about a person who - on a foggy Wednesday in November- sits in the kitchen pondering about a problem instead of just solving it. That's probably also why it's called "Drowning Fishes" - if you get the connection lol.
