this is the first time i'm doing this in a hot minute lmao subjecting us to this should be grounds for permanent disqualification from this contest. this getting points itself is heinous, but 14 is at least 60 too many. it's insulting how you put negative thought into any of the contests you decide to participate in, and then bitch when you don't get a result that you want. you reap what you sow, and you are clearly doing just that. i don't know what else to say anymore cause the bar for what i expect from your reactions is low, and yet you always seem to have a shovel I'm going to answer to that because I can't tolerate such a comment, which is a lie on the top of a pile of lies. 1) I didn't see you putting such a hateful comment when Sofia Reyes and Jason Derulo represented Puerto Rico (just an example). No you don't express an opinion at all, but only the fact that you hate me at a point you can't resist to show it to the whole forum everytime you get an opportunity to do so. And seeing that my presence in this contest pisses you at this magnitude, I will detinitely take that into consideration when I'll decide if I stay or leave. 2) When you said that I put negative thoughts into any of the contests i'm involved, this is a complete and shameless lie. WHat I said, and I have perfectly the right to say that, is that according to my own standards and tastes, the songs that were in the final were much less enjoyable that the ones that were eliminated. This also perfectly matches with my votes in my semi-final, where six of my favourite songs ended between the 11th and the 16th place. This means that I disliked many of the songs that were qualified and that I liked many of the songs that were eliminated. Saying that is absolutely not a negative thought about the contest in general. But of course, you love to twist my expressions in order to express your hate towards me, which is completely ridiculous at this point. 3) You can notice that I didn't criticise the extremely negative comments I saw about my last song. I personally liked it much more than what Camila Cabelo had sent previously, and I appreciate her more when she's singing in Spanish. I thought it would be interesting to send it but unfortunately, it seems that almost nobody shared my opinion about that song. Perhaps some of them would change their mind if they listen to it entirely... And by the way, saying that the song should have received negative points can be seen as an insult towards those who appreciated the song like I did and decided to give some points to it. Seeing this kind of comment just after what we saw and said in Retro WWWSC is absolutely astonishing. YOu have the right to say that you hate a song, but not to discredit the opinion of those who like it. This is a border that nobody on this forum should ever cross. 4) I perfectly have the right to wonder why I never got any success in OSC despite winning nearly 30 other contests. And as a human being I perfectly have the right to feel tired about a total lack of good results in seven years. Many players would have left a long time ago in a similar situation. 5) I won't go further and I hope you won't add another flow of pure hate because you would just dig yourself into a deeper hole. If you wanna get cute, lets get cute. 1) You didn't see me saying anything about Sofia Reyes and Jason Derulo because my account was a whole 2 weeks old when that edition happened (I made the account 1 March 2019, semis dropped 15 March). I wouldn't join the contest for another 2 editions. If you are gonna do a gotcha question, at least make the gotcha believable. But at the same time, lets look at some of the artists that you should've pulled up instead of that one: Rosalía & Ozuna in E8, or Belinda & Pitbull in E13. It's not cause they're both popular, I could care less about that. If you didn't know, Estelle has a song with over 600M plays on Spotify, Latto, who I sent to OAfSC 14, has multiple songs that have gone platinum multiple times. The reason why I said that was because Camila Cabello is a well documented racist. And it's not like you have Montserrat, where you have such few options that you have to ignore the quality of one's character when looking at the songs you have to send. Especially for someone who spends quite a bit of time researching music that you'd be aware of this. Here's some documentation of that 1, 2, 3, 42) I'll agree that this final wasn't the best, but it feels like every time you don't have a decent result, you are complaining that nothing you do works. I'm not telling you to not express your feelings, but there comes a point when it gets incredibly frustrating seeing it every single time. Do you think it felt good to nq in my first ever own contest with "River?" or the fact that I haven't qed in OESC in 2 years? It sucks. But I'm not out here writing essays about every single minute detail about the inner workings of my mind, and acting like Eeyore. I also don't hate you italix. Contrary to popular belief, I don't hate anyone for silly stuff like this online. I just am getting tired of all of the moping and whatnot you've been doing. And if you saw my post, you'll remember that I said something negative about a friend. I'm sorry that you haven't sent something that I like recently. 3) I'll agree. This a better song than the one she sent in E1. It is an interesting song for sure. If only Camila Cabello wasn't a pos. I don't care how good a song is if the artist is an awful person, and Camila fits that bill. In addition, being a part of this community for as long you are, you'd think you'd know when there is an obvious joke, but that one hit you in the head and you didn't even flinch. The end of this part really just sounds like "You can have an opinion as long as it's positive." I'm sorry, but that's just not possible. Sorry. 4) Your other contest wins don't mean anything here. Different crowds respond best to different things. What works somewhere won't always translate to other contests. Recently, the Own Contests have been seeing more and more alt-pop doing well. Maybe lean into the trends instead of lamenting why the same things won't work every time? 5) Maybe let's just let bygones be bygones and just focus on the next edition in castries?

Maybe lean into the trends instead of lamenting why the same things won't work every time? 5) Maybe let's just let bygones be bygones and just focus on the next edition in castries? Since you seem to have interest for dates, I have one for you. When do you think I complained about my results in a contest on the forums for the last time? Anser in spolier. Dec 23, 2022 This doesn'f fit very well with the picture of me you're trying to draw. No, I'm not complaining all the time, and I can even barely speak here because everytime I say something that doesn't please to somone like you, I have tons and tons of angry replies. People who knew me when I arrived here certainly noticed a sharp decrease of my activity, especially because of this. I will add that I posted 80 times in the entire year 2023, and that 65 of these posts were confirmation posts and posts related to the selection and the presentation of my songs. And by the way, my comment you reacted to was not really a complaint about my own results. No, this is a more global question: is there still an interest to participate to a contest where most of the songs I like (not only my own songs) don't even reach the final? Plus the fact that I feel I'm in a dead end with Colombia: I can't use songs with hundreds of millions of views, traditional songs would be shot at first sight, I don't want to send random reggaeton stuff that I wouldn't like, and none of the other ways I explored never got me anywhere. And to those who might think that I shouldn't complain because they think Colombia is a easy country to host, I will just quote Luigi Pirandello:
What I would translate by: before judging my life or my character, put my shoes on, walk through the same paths as I did. Experience my own pain, my doubts, my laughters. Live the years that I saw, fall where I fell and get back up like I did.
About Camila Cabello, I may surprise you but I don't know anything about her personal life, her opinions and what she said. She is not an artist that I follow particularly. I know that she exists and I know what songs she released but that's basically all. So if the reason behind your comment was about the fact that you think she's racist, I was totally unaware of that. And indeed, I do think about that kind of things when I select a song for a contest. I give you an example: you will never see any song by Noir Désir in Retro WWWSC because Bertrand Cantat is a murderer. But I won't make a complete biographical research on any singer I might use in order to check if their political, religious (...) opinons are correct, which is by the way impossible to do most of the time.

There's been so many times that I, and many othe forumers, recalled you writing these long essays of complaining about something, and then when respond back, you then go on to write an even longer essay about trying to defend yourself, and these "angry replies" you speak of are just people who are sick of you constantly complaining. Also I find it quite comical that you think 9 months of never complaining is such a flex. Like it should be 0. Like most people would just 'ew yucky results' and then leave it there, but you always have to blame it on people somehow. Now with your original comment, I do see where you're coming from because I too have been noticing the constant use of corny EDM music, annoyingly artsy music (saint Lucia 🫢), and overall just music that doesn't reflect the countries' cultures. But I don't say a word about it because I just leave if I feel like I'm not liking it anymore. So honestly just take these 'angry comments' as a compliment cuz these people just want you to stop embarrassing yourself.

But I don't say a word about it because I just leave if I feel like I'm not liking it anymore. So honestly just take these 'angry comments' as a compliment cuz these people just want you to stop embarrassing yourself. I agree. Having never seen this italix person before and this being my first Own America edition, my first impression is just complaining. To them directly, if you send a song that nobody likes, you don't get points. That's how I ended with 25 points in semi as Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and that's how I just got last in GF with Guam here. That's how contests work. You don't see Azerbaijan going on and on about how they're the victim at Eurovision for only getting 4 points in semi, and that transfers here. Similarly, some countries do surprise by being NQs, and they are robbed. Compare the shock of Latvia or Georgia at ESC this year with say Angola and South Sudan at Own Africa this edition. They may have had a lot of backing, but ultimately didn't get through. They did not, however, get bottom 2 in a semi-final of 20 countries, that's where a line can be drawn. My taste in music very often flops at Own contests too. Most Tongan entries at Own Asia are songs I love. Fiji last edition is one of my top 3 most streamed songs of all-time, and they NQed. But these are the results and we have to accept them; people voted that way. Songs I send frequently get low placements, and I adapt to align my tastes with that of the contest, something I feel like I've succeeded with at Own Africa. Did I say I, or other entries, were robbed? Yes. Did I launch an attack on other fandom users for that robbery? No. Learn to do the same. And in terms of contest wins, I have more than you Italix. I've accrued close to 50 contest wins. But I have also gotten last place way over 150 times - I have as many last places than I have top 3 finishes. Wins at one contest do not translate to automatic success elsewhere, and anyone who thinks so is frankly entitled. Especially considering I have both gotten wins and last places with the same songs at different contests, it strikes me that you don't understand that different contests have different tastes. And that's perfectly ok, but don't blame the other users for that. On that note, I look forward to improving next edition. Let's keep things positive. Enjoy a little singalong.
