Hương Giang and Saabirose. winner of the third ASEAN Song Festival
Nguyễn Hương Giang is a Hanoian trans queen, model, singer and actress. She is best known as the first transgender singer to participate in the fourth season of Vietnam Idol, which contributed to her fame, similar to contestant Phuong Vy. In March 2018, she represented Vietnam in the Miss International Queen 2018 held in Pattaya, Thailand, and eventually brought the crown back to the country. She had a tough childhood and used to struggle with dressing and talking like a girl as her community did not accept her. She is now one of the most successful Vietnamese pop singers and influencers, having entered the list of most popular pop singers.
Trần Thùy Dương, commonly known by her stage name Saabirose, is a Vietnamese self-composed singer from Huế. Currently studying the vocal music department at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, she is an extremely talented female conservatory student. In 2022, she participated in the third season of Sing My Song Vietnam (Bài hát hay nhất), a reality television show by Vietnam Television aimed at finding versatile artists capable of singing and self-composing and after that, is behind several hits in Vietnam. “We did not really see this coming so winning not only our country's ticket to the Philippines, but the whole edition among all the musical talents from our region is such a great prize for us. Saa is now publicly proven to be an excellent composer, and I also made the LGBTQ+ community in not only Vietnam but also in the Southeast Asia proud. Get ready Own Asiavision, we will become even hotter than what we are right now!” - expressed Hương Giang.
On 26 March, they were announced not only as the winner of the Vietnamese quota, but also as the third winner of the ASEAN Song Contest as well, extending Vietnam's 100% presence on the podium and achieving the country's second victory. Therefore, they will be granted a rightful opportunity to represent Vietnam on the Own Asiavision stage in the Philippines with their winning song ...
“Hót hòn họt” (Hotter than hot) Vietnam in Own Asiavision Song Contest 33
『 Written and composed by Trần Thùy Dương 』
"Hót hòn họt" was initially composed solely by Saabirose as her submission for the show Bài hát hay nhất, where the song received a numerous applause from the Vietnamese audience. At that episode, Hương Giang, as one of the guests, was impressed by the song and discussed with Saabirose and Vietnam Television regarding collaboration and revamping the song for her own project for her own project The New Mentor, and possible submission for Own Asiavision. The song was re-composed with the assistance of Vietnam's famous producer D.A. and the new version has turned out to be an even bigger hit in Vietnam.
"This obviously exceeded what I personally expected back then when I composed Hót hòn họt in my small room. If anybody would say that this would give me a chance to perform in front of ton of audiences - I would laugh and call them a big liar. Thank you so much for the support and along with Miss Hương Giang, I will try my best to make Vietnam proud!" - said Saabirose
The music video symbolized power of women in the style of residences of a mysterious female tribe. As the song's name "Hotter than hot" suggests, the more beautiful and seductive a woman is, the more dangerous and difficult it is to reach. That's why no one who comes here can return safely. This detail is installed through the image of a ruined car covered with moss. The scene where ladies walked on charcoal and wore a hot coal jar on her head is not just a cultural representative but a metaphor for the hotness of girls like the song hinting - "Hot from toe to head". Not only are they hot like fire, but women are also extremely strong and soft, shown through the wetness of the water or the sexy adhesion of honey.
Hót hòn họt won Vietnam's quota for the upcoming Asian music competition, as well as the whole regional program ASEAN Song Festival 3 with the amount of 117 points and received the highest score from Solomon Islander and Thai juries. In the name of the organizers, we would like to thank the juries from (previous) Cook Islander, Japanese, Nauruan, North Korean, Omani, Solomon Islander, Sri Lankan, Syrian and Vanuatuan delegations for kindly joining our international jury panel.
Best of luck to all participants and to our hotter than hot ladies! Vietnam Television • VTV Official representative Vietnamese broadcaster in Own Asiavision Song Contest

Sarah Kinsley in a promotional photoshoot for ASEAN Song Festival 3
Sarah Kinsley has performed in ASEAN Song Festival 3, and her song has been decided. Mediacorp is proud to announce the song that will represent us. You can find it out in the spoiler below!
It's Lovegod for Singapore "So I'll give the prick a chance, and I'll stare into his eyes
His lips don't say it, but I know it, they are yearning to be mine
And I feel the moment rising, we are surely leaning in
And it feels just like a dream, because I wake up
Kissing a vision
Lovegod
Send me someone, send me anyone to close the mountain inside
Lovegod
Send me someone, send me anyone to kiss away the forces of my mind
Walking into the sun with my eyes
(Delay the feeling, delay the feeling, delay the feeling)"

AUSTRALIAN ENTRY REVEALED! Australia has participated for the first time as a guest nation in the third edition of ASEAN Song Festival, where 4 Australian acts have fought for the right to represent the country in Own Asiavision Song Contest 33.
After the semi-final round, two acts eventualy qualified for the Grand Final of the beloved Festival, with Daine and The Merindas being the two finalists of the Australian quota.
Without further adieu, let's meet the next representative...
DAINE WILL REPRESENT AUSTRALIA!
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Filipino-Australian artist Daine is the new soundtrack for a disillusioned generation navigating life in an unforgiving world. Harbouring an almost obsessive passion for midwestern emo in the likes of Tigers Jaw, Sunny Day Real Estate, American Football and more, Daine takes those references from the past and transposes them to something more future facing. Harnessing all the emotion that comes from those early 00s icons, Daine blends those wrought atmospheres with contemporary hip hop production and a saccharine vocal that provides a bittersweet edge.
An artist born from a DIY ethos and an underground mentality, daine began writing music alone in their room after being inspired by shows from the likes of Turnstile, Basement, Jesus Piece and Code Orange, and credits the hardcore and metal scene in Melbourne for its camaraderie at a time when they felt isolated socially from those that they went to school with. Their first single "Picking Flowers" is a perfect example of this desolation - a devastating display of goth-tinged pop that assaults the senses and amalgamates genres at will to express their melancholia. Within their music, daine is writing their own personal diary, and the story is taking shape with every note.
"Cut My Heart Out" is a track that leaves you with an insatiable thirst for the sheer fun embedded within, it is the latest addition to a growing repertoire of musical exploration. Self-proclaimed as "sexy club music", the track kicks off with a burst of bright bass, setting the stage for a refreshingly kinetic sonic experience. Drawing inspiration from the late 00s chart-club era, exudes a gloss-heavy electro energy that perfectly complements Daine’s style. What’s truly remarkable is how Daine seamlessly merges melodies that would typically be reserved for heartbroken ballads of third-wave emo, transposing them onto the adrenaline-fueled rush of this track.
The song became the runner-up of the ASEAN Song Festival #3 with 104 points, being 13 points behind the winner, Vietnam.
