There will be 12 songs in the final, each with a broadcaster behind them; this is how those 12 will be chosen:
Juries
Here broadcasters can apply to mentor an act in Made in Ireland 5 - they will be given the choice of two singers (one mentor will receive two foreign acts) and will then have to pick which of the acts they should mentor, and which of those act's songs should be sent. 10 songs will come through this method. Broadcasters will have until the 3rd of October to apply. Both NBU members and NBU associate broadcasters can apply. It's not first come first served, the mentors will be chosen randomly from those who apply, with the exception of the winning broadcaster from the last edition, which will get through automatically.
RTÉ's new role
RTE will be able to pick an act for the 9 acts not chosen by the broadcasters (excluding the foreign act) to mentor.
Celtic Language
One of the 12 songs will be in a Celtic language (Welsh, Irish,Scottish Gaelic, Brenton, Cornish and Manx). This role will be again taken by the
