I haven't been to Asia at all, sadly. I am thinking about taking a gap year from university and doing some travelling, though. I'd love to visit Beijing and some of the other cultural cities like Leshan and Lhasa.

Well actually Beijing is not nice at all. Of course there are nice places like the forbidden city or the summer palace, but all in all its just a big, gray mess I still enjoyed my trip there, but apart from all cultural events, the city is not good enough to live there imo we often visited things outside of Beijing, like the Great Wall

tbh, Shanghai looks like a nicer destination in China. I might be doing a semester of study abroad in Hong Kong in 2017, so maybe I'll be able to explore a bit of China.
