Ireland shall once again be using Made in Ireland to select their entry, with a expanded selection format. There will be two semi finals made up of 7 acts with 7 mentors. 3 acts from each of the semis will go through to the final which shall be made up of the qualifiers from the semi, the Celtic Act and the Foreign Act
How the eight mentors are split:
The Celtic Mentor: This mentor will be able to pick any song in any of the celtic languages
The Foreign mentor: Will be able to pick a song for one of the three foreign acts given to them.
A Group mentors: There will be a list of 15 out of the 30 acts in the A group. These mentors will be in the first semi final.
B Group mentors: There will be a list of 15 out of the 30 acts in the B group. These mentors will be in the second semi final.
Back up Mentor: RTE will select 1 song from the A group and 1 from the B group who will then compete in a poll to see which will be represented
The Acts Shall be announced after the juries are announced on the first of june
