balint Thanks a lot for your suggestions However, what about the case of a debuting country for the 2nd idea? well... then their best result will be their song in the 40th edition whatever they send but it can be also a concern if someone gets his best result in the 39th because then he shouldn't be able to send the same artist.. so probably not the best idea

balint Well in such a case, maybe we could not apply the rule for such special cases... But this is something that surely has to be discussed

1. Everyone gets a letter and their song title has to start with that letter ( i guess we should exclude Q though, that's not easy in most languages ) The running order could be the alphabet Of course there must be some letters that are given to two players. this sounds nice at first, but it is gonna be quite complicated for those who use other alphabet than Latin (Russia, Ukraine, China, Greece, Cyprus...) and there will be more letters to be excluded as they are also not easy in many languages...

I have also an idea:
We have the "Best-of" already. How about a "Worst-of"(or whatever that's called)? Everyone sends his/her worst song again which means the song which scored the worst result or the one he/she likes the least.

fabbi Sending the one with the worst result is surely a good idea but I wouldn't really go with the idea of sending the song that someone likes the least as it would be easy to lie... I could also say I don't like my winning song at all but I just sent it in order to do well So in such a case, the 2nd part of your suggestion is unfortunately rejected for sure, the 1st one can be considered though Thanks a lot

And also traditional stuff would be difficult for me what to submit even though it'd be the one I'd like to see the most. Only problem for you in this case I see is the amount of songs to choose from, nothing else. Tbh. I first would have to find something which would fit for myself. Plus I'm not really into these genres.

But you could maybe also say no songs which were in top 3 (or 5 or whatever) like there was for the best-of.

I particularly like the idea that everyone receives a winning song from the past editions and has to submit a song related to it! It's a way to celebrate the past winners (and to know them, especially for those who joined few editions ago like me )
