Dýrian president visits De Vremdspongeln to establish better ties between the countries
Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir has landed in De Vremd's capital today for a 2 day visit of the country after she was invited by the Vremd president, Mathijs Bosscha, to discuss ties between the two nations.
Upon her arrival she was greeted by the Vremd president and made her way to the presidential building. There, the two presidents exchanged gifts from their two nations and began the discussion. The main topic was the shared interest in making better ties between Dýria and De Vremdspongeln. Speaking in the capital today, president Egilsdóttir stated that:
Dýrian and Vremd relations go back many years, but they were never too strong. However today, I am pleased to be here in De Vremd to reiterate my support for stronger ties between our two nations, invited by your kind president. The Vremd community in Dýria has grown over the past few months and I am sure they will be happy with this invitation and outcome. During her visit, she will meet members of the Dýrian community in the country. She has also invited the Vremd president to visit Dýria sometime in the future.
After this meeting, De Vremdspongeln will get it's own embassy in Dyflinnjaborg, and Dýrian Airlines will also start services to De Vremdspongeln which will be weekly.

VRADIAZI JOINS THE UNITED NATIONS OF FANTASIA
Yesterday, Sunday, 3 September 2017, the long awaited referendum on the accession of the country to the United Nations of Fantasia was held in Vradiazi. The vote, which had the participation of 30.6 million people and a turnout of 81%, ended up with 63.2% in favour of joining the UNF, while 34.7% rejected it.
Minutes after hearing the results, President Meir Sivyu appeared before the press at the Konjrasi Decaurh, the Vradi Parliament, and said a few words:
This is not the first time a referendum of this kind has been called in Vradiazi. The last and only time took place in 2010, a year after its formation. On that occasion, 78.1% rejected to join any intergovernmental organization on a world scale in clear response to the agitated international affairs that the old States of Vradi suffered for years. However, some time later the situation has changed, and nowadays the place of influence that Vradiazi occupies on the world scene is evident, being among the best economies in Fantasia.
A first step was taken in 2015 when this country joined forces with other nations to create the Westmont Union, a politico-economic and defence community currently composed of 10 member states in Westmont. Since then, relations between Vradiazi and the rest of the countries have improved, and this has made Vradi citizens change their minds and start looking favourably on the economic and social development between them. Results of Lidonian electionsLast weekend, the first national elections since the military coup took place, and today the election organization commitee announced the official results. You can get an overview over the political parties and their stances here and here Senate
At the end of a head-to-head race, the SDPL won the vote with 24,2% over the also social-democratic IPL who gained 23,79% of the votes. The conservative ULP managed to become the 3rd strongest party, with 20,13%. A huge let down was the election for the Greens who just got 6,13% of all votes, while the liberal LU managed to closely jumped into the senate with just 0,04% more than the needed percentage.
Sorry for the messed up colors in this one.
In seats, it looks like this. The SDPL has the most seats, but just 1 more than the IPL. Together both have the 107 seats needed for a majority. The LU ended up as smallest party present with 11 seats, just 3 less than the Greens and 6 less than the communist CPL.
Representative Chamber
Additionally the Representative Chamber was elected. The members of this house were elected directly per district into this part of the parlament, in which all laws must be passed too.
As you can see the SDPL was clearly the strongest party here, winning 18 of 51 possible seats. The IPL and ULP came 2nd and 3rd, but with 11 and 10 seats not even close. Behind that the separatistic PC got 5 seats, tied with the Greens. The communists got 2 seats, while the liberals went out empty-handed.
What next?
A government needs to be built now. Despite getting a majority in both houses, SDPL and IPL already confirmed that they won't build a coalition, so we have a 3 or more party coalition for sure. It'll be interesting to see which of the 2 strongest parties will be able to build a coalition which can satisfy the public.

POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS DRAW TO A CLOSE AS EARLY ELECTION VOTING BEGINS TOMORROW IN GLARAY
The Liberal Party's Alvin Armenta, the current president, the Social Liberty Party's Elvana Tornos, former president looking to contest again after a battle with cancer two years ago, and Glaray First's Gianni Atzei.
The year-long campaigns of the various political parties in Glaray begin to come to a conclusion as early election voting begins tomorrow in Glaray. Early voting, which has accounted for an increasingly higher proportion of votes each election, will be an early indicator of the progression of the results during election night this upcoming Saturday.
Glaray’s political system is very unique – using the mixed member proportional (MMP) system, due to the diversity of political opinion it is ruled by three main parties, instead of the usual two. This usually results in the Liberal Party, who is politically centrist, siding with the left (Social Liberty) or right (Glaray First) to form a majority coalition government, with the party who received the highest number of seats winning the election and thus having the President – meaning results vary every election and voting is often unpredictable in nature.
Polls currently have the results as too close to call, with current president Alvin Armenta on 34%, Glaray First's Gianni Atzei on 30%, Social Liberty's Elvana Tornos on 30%, Green's Federica Clara and Michelle Thaqi on 5%, Conservative's Rafael Abbate on 3% and Glaraian Tradionalist's Sister Ashley on 3%, however she is expected to pick up a large number of electorate seats.
For the first time, Western Katsyrians have been allocated their own seat in the Glaraian Parliament and thus will have a democratic say on the country's matters; this is to encourage progression on their autonomy as an independent state away from Katsyria.
Stay tuned throughout the week for updates, and the preliminary results release on Saturday.

Government finally formed in LidoniaAfter several weeks of talks and negotiations a government was formed in Lidonia. A coalition of IPL, UPL and LU will form the social-conservative-liberal coalition. Both houses of the parliament voted with a majority for the new formed government today. Shortly afterwards the coalition contract was signed, making the government official. Steffan Rjulič will be the first government leader of Lidonia. Today marked an important day in Lidonia's history, as the first government of the new state was announced today. After long negotiations an alliance of Social-centers, conservatives and liberals has formed, and won the race to presidency, after it was already early on clear that this alliance will be the only one which will work. The alliance will have a 108 seats in the senate, one over majority, but due to the LU getting no seats in the voting for the representative chamber, it'll have only 21 seats there, 5 less than needed for majority. The voting of the new government was here only possible thanks to the Greens voting for it, and for the future it'll have to rely on switching parties to support its goals. The coalitions most important goals: The official re-introduction of a military service A stronger military with a high budget and modern technology The abandonment of the latest restrictions on alcohol, like the 2014 introduced extra-taxes Strict gun laws A law punishing the creation and distribution of Fake News and incorrect reports Strict Immigration laws, with the pre is of quality over quantity New restrictions on state-sponsored health care A new tax system benefitting companies for a strong economy More investments in the digital sector The creation of the position of a NU minister and a Flirskmasto minister, for keeping close ties to both. Plebiscites for the question of whether to introduce a death penalty and to introduce the Nordo as currency.

DECORIA JOINS THE NORTHERN UNION! October 11, 2017 Norfort, Decoria
Footage of people voting in the Northern Union membership referendum.
Breaking news! It was just announced that Decoria has officially joined the Northern Union, making it the twelfth country to join the Union. The decision was made based upon a referendum that was held in the country to decide whether Decoria should join the Northern Union.
The background
Since early 2016, and after joining the United Nations of Fantasia in January 2016, the Decorian government started discussions regarding future memberships in further unions in the world. Specifically, the President of Decoria, Hulda Rasmussen, met with members from the Northern Union as well as members from the Westmont Union. In August 2017, during a speech that was given by the Prime Minister of Decoria, Kasper Østergård, it was revealed that the country had been negotiating the past months with founding members of the Northern Union, Fordia and Lanovina, in order to join the Union. This statement caused mixed reactions from the public, with several arguing that joining the Union would hurt the economy of the country very badly. However, the support for the country's membership in the Union was major as well, with many debates taking place all over the country regarding the matter, as well as many outburts and incidents, that subsequently lead to several minor injuries.
The membership referendum
The Decorian government submitted a membership application to the Northern Union on 5 July 2016 and negotiations on entry began the same month. At a summit in Krono in January 2017, Decoria was officially invited to join the Union. All major parties agreed that a binding referendum on membership was needed before Decoria could join the Northern Union.
The National Assembly of Decoria changed the rules on referendums in Decoria in 2016, the previous requirement that turnout be over 75% was removed and instead the requirement became that over 50% of registered voters had to support a referendum. In August 2017 the Constitution of Decoria was amended to enable a referendum on Northern Union membership to take place. As part of the amendment it was agreed that the referendum would take place on 8 October 2017.
All the political parties, as well as business organizations, churches and media supported the membership of the Northern Union. The opposition camp was confined to some small groups which organised themselves into the "Movement for a Free Decoria", supporting that the country should not be in any way be involved in the Union as it would "destory the country" in the future.
The referendum question, which voters answered with "Yes" or "No", was "Should Decoria become a member of the Northern Union?" Eligible to vote in the referendum was anyone with citizenship in the country of Decoria. The results in the opinion polls for the referendum varied, with the majority predicting a tie for the two sides. However, eventually the "Yes" side won with a total of 5,341,074 votes (63.93%) while the "No" side gathered a total of 3,014,124 votes (36.07%). With a turnout of 79.29%, a percentage higher than expected, the result was widely accepted by the Decorian people. Despite that, there were several incidents following the announcement of the results, with people protesting against the country joining the Union.

Missile Attack over Shinkoyuan Skies
Late yesterday evening and last night, two missiles were detonated by the Shinkoyuan army, as they were seen over the Northern area of our country, roughly 44 miles North-West of our capital. We have no indication who these missiles were launched from, but we do know that her Majesty Queen Yangkwang is extremely appalled at this and if the perpetrator is found, she is ready to either hold talks on reasons why, or failing on talks, she is ready to claim war.

Dýrian president welcomes Decoria into the Northern Union
This evening in Dyflinnjaborg, president Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir congratulated Decoria on it's successful Northern Union membership referendum and thus welcomed the country into the union as the 12th member.
She stated this evening that;
On behalf of the Dýrian population, we welcome Decoria into the Northern Union. Prior to their accession, we have supported Decorian membership in the union. While the idea was never pushed on by us, it was always going to be supported by the Dýrian government. When the news came, we immediately accepted the proposal."
Furthermore, she announced that the construction of the Decorian embassy was almost finished and has confirmed that Dýria will also have an embassy in Decoria, alongside the announcement that Dýria will be looking into setting up embassies in other countries too.
Ms. Egilsdóttir will soon travel to Decoria to meet with the president to discuss relations between the two countries.

First metro system of Aquia inaugurated in Rio de Fevereiro! This project took 18 years to be complete, and even though some stations were readybefore, the system wasn't open due to the poor infrastracture used in the constructions.
A single trip costs 4 R$ (around $1.33), even though there are several discounts depending on your age, occupation and disabilities.
