There were only 5 good songs this year and thankfully they all reached the final.
1. Loreen - "Euphoria"
2. Molly Sandén - "Why Am I Crying"
3. Dead by April - "Mystery"
4. Lisa Miskovsky - "Why Start a Fire"
5. Danny Saucedo - "Amazing"
I hope "Euphoria" wins because it's the best song, Loreen is the best singer, and she deserves to win this! Molly Sandén's performance is too boring but they song is great. I rather listen to it than just watch her sing it. "Mystery" is a good song with a just as good performance but it doesn't say "hit" over the song, it's just not strong enough. Lisa Miskovsky was a surprise in my eyes (or ears). It took a few listens to realise how good it is. Not a chance this will do well in ESC though. Danny... he finished 2nd last year. I've placed him 5th but IF someone have to win except Loreen, I guess he would be our best option. His vocal performance wasn't good at all in the semifinal though but I like the performance and the song is doomed to do well. I might have pushed him down to the bottom of my top because currently he is the favourite to win together with Loreen, and I want Loreen! ;D
Last year (2011), I thought "My Heart is Refusing Me" was the only good song in Melodifestivalen (it's even better than "Euphoria"). It was too good for Melodifestivalen, at a completely different level, and was eliminated in the second chance. It later won awards and was praised by critics but the song was too modern and different to the public. Loreen also showed up from nowhere so no one was used to see her. She left the music business in 2005 after finishing 4th in Swedish Idol 2004.
In the final I was hoping for Danny with "In the Club" because it was the best in the bunch even though it wasn't good.
Eric Saade finished 3rd, great, but I rather send something I can be proud of. I haven't liked the Swedish entry since 2004 even though 2007 was good but not my style.

Loreen is best in the final and second is Dead by April. From Andra Chansen I wanted Andreas Johnson/Dynazty and Thorsten! Disappointed with Second Chance results... Stormande Hav was the best song! I cant stand Timoteij.. and people vote for them only because they are four cute girls pretending to play violin and flute. me too... Sean Banan didn't make it... Funny performance and catchy song. I wouldnt have complained if it went through as long as it doesnt win everything! |
