People request Tove Lo and Mans and Loreen from Jan all the time too, but he doesn't put them in his NS. There is a reason this contest strives for realism, and sorry to say this but the British selection is the most unrealistic selection in the contest almost every time it's held.
I don't have a problem if there's one song by Ellie or Adele (since in the NVSC world, NVSC is way more popular than ESC in the real world), but if a large portion of the selection consists of these songs, then I do have a problem.
Sorry, but this is the truth.

It makes me laugh how people are talking that nvsc is about being realistic  like   Agnes would represent  or   Rykka would really go back to just because of the contest. and if it's so popular in nvsc world, why can't a bunch of great  British artists to fight in a national selection? please, respect my opinion.
