Our HoD is idiot tbh. He said that Sandhja's live was great ( ), blame Swedes for the running order and the staging as they made 50% of the performance (hopefully I said it right), and said civil juries in the NF we're great (we had Youtubers, kids and asphalt constructors in the jury + Sandhja won it with a big margin) and they really didn't have any power in the NF as the Finnish people chose the winner after all*! What the actual fuck?! He also said that Paradise Oskar performed first (like Sandhja) and he also didn't qualify YLE isn't taking ESC seriously at all if we have uninformed person as a HoD. I hope they sack our HoD or withdraws from the contest. And if we participate with him I'm going to boycott UMK and watch Melfest. I can't stand this bullshit. *Saara Aalto won the televoting, while Sandhja was 3rd.

okay, full reaction: amazing vocals and amazing stage! I liked it beforehand but I enjoyed that performance. NINA Finally Croatia is back after 7 years! And I'm super happy for Nina too tbh. I loved her performance and I knew she would qualify in the end. Not too bad but it's kinda meh. I won't lie but I did like that moment where he stopped for a few seconds and continued on. Liked how he interacted with the audience yas slay that stage! Along with Iceland best performance of the evening. Grew on me so much (even if I already loved it) and I really hope she ends in the top 10 on Saturday. obvious imo but still good! finally I was so happy when I heard Czech Republic being called out as they never qualified before and was really happy while watching. Well done! awesome performance, I really liked it and the effects. I kinda guessed during the performance they'd qualify in the end. ZOE I'm happy my prediction for her to be out was wrong. She really deserved this and a sweet performance indeed. I really liked the song but disliked the performance. Loved the background but Samra's vocals were quite meh for me. If the juries didn't like this then I guess she got many televotes. Still, good song.. I was happy for her even if I wanted Iceland as the last qualifier. But yay for Ira as I do like her song ---------------------------- It wasn't too bad - but I kinda forgot about it. Not too surprised. I predicted them to be in? Well I only thought because they seemed alright during rehearsals. But I was kinda thinking during their performance that Greece wouldn't qualify in the end. But I will admit I liked the background and the traditional influences in the song. didn't expect this to go far anyways lol - but well.. it seems he had fun so good for him. Not one of my favourites but interesting performance. My favourite of the semi final and 2nd overall is out - I still can't believe it. Vocally, I'd prefer this to Samra. I guess she must have come 11th-13th but tbh, she had this kind of performance since the NF so I don't see how it's a copy of Sergey (yes I know she performed after him) but anyway, doesn't matter. Awesome graphics but I didn't see this in personally. Well it's kinda underrated - and strange to see no Bosnia in the final for the first time. I did like the song but it was incredibly difficult in this semi imo. Well good results like I said. And will be a bit strange not seeing & in the final. Tho imo it was going to happen sooner or later.

I'd change Greece and Iceland (wouldn't care which) by the Netherlands. I'm really happy to see Austria, Croatia and the Czech Republic qualify! Can't wait to see Sanja in the second semi-final!

What the actual fuck?! Well, Sandhja tried her best to take a descent place on the semi. I don't think you should "boycott" your NS as most of the songs were average and no one would qualify tbh, maybe a better place on the non-qualifiers but still not a qualification tho. Also uhm as Sandhja got 3rd by the televoting this means that people still liked her.

My opinion: Azerbaijan - Glad it qualified I really enjoyed the performance and imo her vocals were not bad.. Russia - Well it was obvious but I'd prefer if it failed tbh Netherlands - I was pissed off when this was announced, but it has grown on me tbh. But still, it's kinda boring and shouldn't have qualified. Hungary - The performance was great tbh. Don't mind its qualification Croatia - Well, I actually predicted this to flop, and tbh it should've flopped lel I found the performance kinda boring, and the dress kinda ridiculous. I was also not impressed by her vocals. But the song is great and it's been 7 years since Croatia has last qualified so eh, congrats Austria - And here is where the good qualifiers start. I loved her performance and I'm so glad she qualified, even though it wasn't expected. I also love her personality and she's so cute in general omfg Armenia - YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS QUEEN SLAY Definitely my favourite of the semi, it was absolutely astonishing! I really hope this wins in Saturday. Czech Republic - OMFG YESSSSSS I preferred to vote for this over Armenia because the latter would qualify no matter what. The performance was simple, yet amazing, and that's what made it perfect. Congratulations for their first qualification. Me: "k, we're out."Mans: "Cyprus!"omfg omfg omfg omfg omfg omfg Cyprus - COULDN'T WE GET ANNOUNCED EARLIER? I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK. >_> Anyway, thank god we qualified. I have to say I really enjoyed the performance and I hope for a good placement on Saturday Malta - Even though the performance wasn't very good, I love the song (and Ira) so I'm glad it qualified. -------- Finland - Nooooooooo I found the performance very enjoyable and I always get happy when I listen to the song but meh, the running order killed it imo... Greece - The performance was really great imo and the chorus was really enjoyable and it was sang well, it's just that other countries deserved it more. I doubt we're gonna see Greece in the contest next year tbh... Moldova - Sorry to say but she was pretty bad live Especially at the last chorus Better luck next time, Moldova. San Marino - Such surprise wow. I have to say I loved the performance and the retro-ish feeling it had but eh, I don't think this would deserve a qualification. Estonia - I love the song but I found the performance kinda boring tbh, but I was still hoping it would manage to sneak in.. Sad for Juri Montenegro - The performance was amazing, one of the best last night imo. But, even though I like the song, I wouldn't like Montenegro to get one of the spots, sorry. Iceland - wtef Europe what is wrong with you o__________o Greta was amazing, the performance was amazing, everything was amazing like wtf. I feel really sorry for Iceland and Greta.. Hope they qualify next time.. Bosnia and Herzegovina - Well, the performance was great imo and I really liked the song but there were better so.. yeah Okay-good results overall, glad to see my whole top 5 in I would personally swap with but eh, there's nothing we can do about it...

Also uhm as Sandhja got 3rd by the televoting this means that people still liked her. Yes, I agree that Sandhja did her best, but the HoD should have admit that we weren't best enough to qualify, rather than blame running order and hosts for the failure. Also after UMK16 results, people complained that the voting system for the televoting wasn't told at all. He answered that it was announced, although this never happened. And yes, most of our songs wouldn't have qualified to the final, but the way YLE treats Eurovision and UMK itself is awful. YLE has given image of ESC like it's hater's see it: Glimmer, show and disco songs that were made 10yrs ago. As an example one of the "expert" in the UMK pre-show said that Mikael Saari won't get to the final because it isn't ESC-ish which was one-sided comment that an "expert" shouldn't say as it would favor other artists that have "ESC-ish song" plus it was a stereotypical comment as a lot of non-ESC-ish songs have qualified to the final (Netherlands this year as an example). He also bashed Mikael Saari fans childishly before and after the final (which is still disgusting imo). Also, the way HoD said that jury didn't have power because people chose the winner sounds ridiculous. It's like in Parliament election people have 50% of voting power and the president has another 50% but the president says that he doesn't have real power of selecting the new parliament. UMK could get way better if YLE thinks again what ESC is nowadays. Otherwise we will get same results somewhere between 21st-26th if we even qualify to the final. And again, Sandhja did her best. I'm just pissed off that the HoD cannot admit their failure for not qualifying to the final.

I prefer Petra this year a lot over how she was in 2013. And btw. my favourite moments of the show were when The final countdown was played.
