K now since we know the songs, I decided to share my top 10 (no video yet) including comments about each entry. I was disappointed, to begin with, but the selection seems to be better now when the full songs have been released.
Rune Rudberg Band - "Run Run Away"
This is just not my cup of tea. I don't have a lot to say about this actually, it doesn't appeal to me at all.
2/12
Kristian Valen - "You and I"
This appears to be one of the favourites to win, but I really hope this doesn't win at all. It's definitely not the worst song I've heard, but I just find this dull and it misses a lot, like a climax for example. The singer is famous which could give this an advantage as well as it's the only ballad in the competition, but I personally dislike this.
3/12
In Fusion - "Nothing Ever Knocked Us Over"
I actually expected this to be one of my favourites when I heard the snippets for the first. I don't know, I think this sounds like a cheap mix between Timoteij, Avicii and Dolly Style. The beat is k, but their voices annoy me. I don't think this has good chances to do well in the competition either.
5/12
Jenny Augusta - "I Go Where You Go"
This sounds very interesting in my opinion and I expect it to have a great performance. There are many elements in this song I like, especially the usage of violins. Her voice is also great. I think this could do well in Melodi Grand Prix, but it won't win.
6/12
Amina Sewali - "Mesterverk"
This is the first entry here that I would say I really like. I also like the fact that she sings in Norwegian which is something I missed from last year's line-up. The song has also a great message. The beginning is the part I like the most is the beginning, but I also like chorus. The end on the other hand, could have been better, but this is a very good song.
8/12
JOWST - "Grab the Moment"
I didn't expect to like this that much at all. It's not a secret that I love the EDM genre, but I expected it to sound worse than it actually is when I heard the snippets. I must admit that I like the verses more than the chorus. I also find the beat very enjoying to listen to. This could do well in MGP, but it depends on the live performance
8/12
Ulrikke - "Places"
I expected this to be a song that I'd enjoy, and I do. I find it very catchy and I love the beat. I am also pretty sure that Ulrikke will do an amazing live performance, cause she is an amazing live artist. I think this is a contender to reach the gold final. It depends if she delivers live.
10/12
Ammunition - "Wrecking Crew"
I must honestly say that I didn't expect to be that big fan of this song. Especially since this belong to the rock genre which I am normally not that big fan of, but I love this. It's very catchy and has everything a quality rock song needs in my opinion. The whistle part is also amazing.
10/12
Ella - "Mamma Boy"
I cannot really describe why I love this, but for some reason I really do. I love the sassiness over this and think it's among the most catchiest songs this year. I find both the verses and chorus very good I love her voice, and I expect her to deliver an amazing performance. I'm not sure if this qualifies to the gold final, but I really hope.
12/12
Elin & The Woods - "First Step in Faith"
What can I say? This is by far the best song in this competition and has the biggest potential in Eurovision. One thing I love about this song is the fact that this is sung in the Samii language which fits the song perfectly. I also really love the rhythm of this song which I associate with Samii music. I expect Elin to deliver live. I am also happy that Robin Lynch is back as producer, as I really love his past entries in Melodi Grand Prix, and this isn't an exception at all. I am sure this will reach the gold final and I really hope it wins.
Clearly 12/12
