 This is the official thread for  Finland in  Eurovision Song Contest 2017
YLE has confirmed that UMK will be used again as a selection method and rules for the upcoming contest should be published asap. No one hasn't yet expressed their interest for participating in UMK (except I know one band/duo which has  ) but some fans believes that Jannika B (again) would compete in UMK, as she was a juror for Finland in the  Eurovision Song Contest 2016. |

Nisa Soraya who also sent song for UMK last year, has said that she's also sending song for UMK17 according to Ilta-Sanomat. The song has been made in 15 different places, including  Paris and  Berlin. The song will be finished in  Tallinn. She also commented that Eurovision has always same songs with different singers which makes it boring. Why are you then participating?  |

Nisa's songs are basically (what I have heard from her songs from 80's) are schlager/disco songs so I really don't understand why she wants to participate in a "boring" contest, if she has made same kind of songs (although schlager/disco songs have been decreased a lot in ESC nowadays). I just hope she doesn't make an "alternative" song because it wouldn't fit for her. |

Finland and UMK is gonna be the exception I make to my year off from NFs, so I hope they finally deliver a show at the same caliber of the NFs from 2012-2014. There's a wealth of talent in the country, so I hope YLE can appeal to it and assemble another great edition of UMK. Onnea Suomi!

This won't happen, but send Saara Aalto, I feel she's more interestied in ESC than the whole delegation Saara Aalto actually said on an interview that her main goal is still to represent Finland in ESC so we will definitely see Saara again in UMK, but it's unlikely that she will be participating next year. |

It's not like they lack metal bands I'd love to get some real Finnish metal, but it's unlikely to happen. |
