Due to the increasing popularity of the International Music Festival within Egypt, the ERTU have upgraded the status of the contest from Nile TV, up to Channel 1, the main Egyptian television station.
Despite competing in the Quarter-Final, these three young singers are excited to sing for their motherland. These three people are Mohamed Magdi, Ayman Seleha and Shahd El Shaarawy who collectively make up the hip-hop group, Young Pharoz will sing "Yalla Ben Ne3eesh (Flying The Flag)".
2:45 This was my first time trying to make a song bilingual, so I know it's far from perfect.
Young Pharoz are a trio hailing from Cairo, who gained fame for placing fourth on X Factor Arabia. Their modern vibe is new for the Egyptian music scene.
The trio have decided to sing in a mixture of both Arabic and English. They have released both an English and Arabic version of the song already, however, as Shahd explains, they felt that it was best so that the true message of the song came through to the entire audience.
When questioned about having to travel to Israel for the competition, Mohamed said I can not pretend to be happy in the slightest to have to travel to Israel for IMF, for obvious reasons. I am glad to be singing for my motherland, Egypt, though, no matter the location. My motherland trumps anything else. I am indeed worried for my safety as an Arab man, but, I must stand strong.
The statements have garnered a bit of controversy in Egypt, despite nearly half of our population supporting Israel, as well as the government normalizing ties, there is still a significant anti-Israel bias in the nation. Several people went on Twitter to express their shock at his comments, especially given the message of their song. Meanwhile ERTU have declined to comment on rumours spreading that ERTU nearly did not compete due to the host country.

but having it bilingual is weird because the quality of the sound of arabic comparing to english version is quite bad lel
