UNITED KINGDOM REVEALS! Following another decent result in Helsinki, where Emeli Sandé finished 13th (13th in the 13th edition, how lucky ), the United Kingdom were quick to confirm their return to NowNewMusic Contest for the 14th edition, being one of the few countries to never miss a final. However, for the last few editions now, the BBC have spoken of their intentions to break beyond the 9th place barrier they've been held behind since the 7th edition in September 2016, and they shall be continuing their efforts to bring NNMC to the UK for another editon! So who will be representing the UK in Sweden? The answer is... Vaults! An English electronica band from London, Vaults is composed of Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman, and Ben Vella. They first received mainstream recognition in 2015, when "One Last Night" was featured on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, and then received further publicity in late 2016 when their cover of "One Day I'll Fly Away" was featured on the John Lewis Christmas advert. But of course, their most prestigious event yet is NNMC 14. They will be performing their newest song "Hurricane" (released on the 6th March).TIMESLOT = 2:27+We hope you enjoy and wish Vaults as well as the rest of the competitors the best of luck!

PAKISTAN CONFIRMS! Shaima Mirza is an English emerging singer-songwriter with Pakistani descent based in London who started her musical journey last year with the release of her debut single “Spread the Love“. Now it’s time to make a proper introduction with her brand new single, instant pop candy “Phenomenal“, which is a scorching electronic pop song, that takes elements of hip-hop, R&B, pop and house with the not so common use of traditional instruments like sitar, Arabic flute and tabla channeling Shaima’s multi-cultural background into her music. The official music video filmed in Morocco was premiered on March 11th.

I've locked the announcements thread since no one responded for quite some time now.
confirms. NS in a few days If there's a limit, will it be waiting list or first come first serve? If I did a waiting list, then it would be more organized since all the players are guaranteed a spot, but then there's people who are going to take breaks between edition, so would I let people in our theoretical waiting list compete and possibly take the spot for as long as they are participating? I actually don't know how it would work efficiently. It would suck for the player taking a break only to return to realize that he/she can't participate. That's where it gets complicated for me. If I did a first come, first serve, everyone has a fair chance of participating. The AQ countries would be automatic participants unless they withdraw their country for another. I find this the easier and more straightforward method, so we will probably go with this if the poll goes "Yes". The question is whether their spot should be secured through simply confirming or by submitting an entry. If we go with the latter option, National Selections may not count as securing a spot, but they are allowed to start early if they're staying with the same country, so by the time it ends, they would be able to submit an entry. One plus side I find with putting a limit is the greater likelihood of replacement votes. The people that got left out can still participate and provide replacement/RotW votes. Considering I've had non-voters within the past two editions and not enough replacements, this could be the solution. To anyone who has not voted in poll yet, please do so. Make your voice heard.
@ori2002, well, you found a loophole. I'll accept it. I actually found the MV in Vimeo uploaded 3 years ago. Thanks for finding the loophole though.
