Sorry, but I can't give it more than . And I highly doubt that he'll qualify. It's too fuckboyish and has a very annoying beat. Also I can't imagine it live. But I like that for the first time the Czech Republic sends a make solo artist.

So far I like it because of the quite interesting instrumental. The lyrics are terrible, no doubt about that and to find a staging that complements the song seems nearly impossible, but I like that trumpets are the beat drop which brings something new for now. I can see it becoming quite annoying in a short time though because this is just a very basic pop song and the trumpets can get very annoying very quickly if someone is exposed to this often. ESC-wise I can see this going either the route of Lithuania 2016, being quite basic yet somehow very catchy or Germany 2017, being VERY basic and literally have nothing outstanding so that the singer is interchangeable and thus having nothing at all that makes it special.

I can see this barely qualifying. THE POSITIVES: Musically speaking, it's really cool. It's got that jazzy urban/downtown vibe with the brass instrumentation. The way he sings the lyrics syncs well with the overall attitude of the song. I also sway to the beat of the song. THE NEGATIVES: These lyrics. Also, it gets repetitive. Also, I noticed this got compared to "I've Been Waiting For This Night." I find "Lie to Me" to be a lot more explicit with its suggestive content (what a contradiction), and "IBWFTN" had much stronger and powerful production. "Lie to Me" is watered down musically. To be honest, this is a toss-up. It all depends on the live performance and how he'll pull it off. If the camera loves him, he might get rewarded with a spot in the final. I don't know how this will appeal to both juries and the televote. I'll be optimistic and say it'll be more favored than "I Stand." The more they participate, the more their reputation and standing in the contest grows.
