We went from 8 year elementary to a 9 year one. As we didn't start the school at the age of six like some later generations did, in order to get the the 9th grade we would have to stay one year longer. So they just made us "skip" 6th grade. In all honesty I don't know why they did it this way. They could have just waited for us to finish in 8th grade and the other generations who came in school with a younger age would finish with 9th. But who cares about logic. |

What kind of changes can make you miss out a whole year/class? We went from 8 year elementary to a 9 year one. As we didn't start the school at the age of six like some later generations did, in order to get the the 9th grade we would have to stay one year longer. So they just made us "skip" 6th grade. In all honesty I don't know why they did it this way. They could have just waited for us to finish in 8th grade and the other generations who came in school with a younger age would finish with 9th. But who cares about logic. First time I hear something like this hapen, when a school goes from 8 grades to 9. I mean, in Latvia in Soviet Times there were also many 8-grade schools, that later become 9-graders, but never happened like to you. I always went the logic way - those who start in the 1st grade are the first one's to have 9th grade as well and so it took 9 years for a school to completely become a 9 grade school..  |

Idk why they couldn't wait 6 years to have the 9th grade. They changed so much that time. They even put us in 3 "levels" of how well we know Literature/grammar (Slovene), Math and English. Our grades went from 1-5 to 1-10. They must have been really bored in the school ministry. Tho all those 8 years I was in b class just not 6.b Sorry for the off-topic  |

Again - rules are the same as previous - vote in the poll for your favorite! Here are the 3 competing songs: Rassell & Sabīne Berezina ft. Edvards Grieze - "Anakonda" Karlīna Priedēna - "I Want To Know (Who Am I)" (In live version it says the title is "I Want To Know", but here on YT it's "Who Am I" - both sound realistic, so I don't know which one to use, so I just joined them together - it's definitely not wrong then  ) Viņš un Viņa - "Viņš un Viņa" Voting deadline again in ~2 days - around 9:00 PM CET in 21st June 2017. The voting for battle #9 is closed! Here are the results! For the results see the spoiler: Let's begin with the Round #2 of this NS! It's gonna be a bit different! At first there were supposed to be 9 songs split in 3 semifinals to select the 3 finalists. Basically from 27 songs we'd cut it to 3 finalists by eliminating 2 in each battle. BUT - just after publishing the 9th battle, I run into a freshly made song, which I really wanted to use in this NS as well, so it will participate in the semifinal as well - this time it means there are 10 semifinalists, which means 3 semifinals can't happen, so there will be only 2 semifinals by 5 songs each. You've heard 9 of these songs already, so it shouldn't take too much time for you to vote. Voting will be the same - with poll! Again - rules are the same as previous - vote in the poll for your favorite (this time you can select up to 2 songs)! 2 songs will qualify for the final (if there are no draws)! Here are the 5 competing songs: this time poll is hidden so we will find out the results only when I lock it,
