Confirmations are closedAll 10 countries have sent their entries Belgium sent a song in English this time round, which means the language rule will be enforced from next edition. (I can't even blame them tbh. Vernacular Belgian songs are hard to find. At least with most other countries if you find one song in their native language you'll get linked to more. I'm already predicting a lot of Lara Fabian in the coming editions ). Such a shame that a decision from a single user will affect the rest.

If anybody used a song that is not in official language of his country before 1973 (like it happened in the real event in 1965 with the Swedish contestant performing in English), the rule of official language would have been officialised. That means that the rule has still existed but was unofficial until now. However, there was only one edition - and it happened that it is this one - between 1956 and 1972 where a song (or several) in non-official languages could have been allowed to compete.
