as I didn't comment on the first semi before the second semi results, I'll just include both in this one massive post

Semi Final 1:

didn't give a huge reaction to this, as it was quite expected, but still super deserved, and I'm glad for Katrine and Greece.
WHY. I mean ok the performance was a improvement, but W H Y.
no surprise here, but once again, a really deserved qualifier. Beautiful vocals, and a great staging to fit it all. Sretno u finalu
again, another expected qualifier. Her vocals were a bit here and there at times, and I wasn't so fond of the performance, but hey, they did smth ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I honestly would have lived better if this wasn't a qualifier. His vocals felt rather screechy at times (still despise the octave change in the first chorus), and the "storm transition" just felt really cheap as well.
I was very 50/50 on this, but I'm glad they made it. Fun performance, and I'm glad that the Czech Republic are finally getting a hang of Eurovision.
NOW WE'RE TALKING. Stunning performance, absolutely killer vocals. Add all that to a fantastic song and you'll receive this. Super stoked this made it, and I hope this does fantastic in the finals
AND WE'RE BACK IN THE FINALS. They probably had one of my favourite performances in the first semi final (right next to Australia).
No matter where they place, I'm just happy to see them in the Grand Final, and I will continue to hope they do great in there as well

I can admit that him being off-key through out the first chorus just sounded rather unbearable, but ngl, I actually kind of enjoyed the rest of the performance,
and I'm glad Serhat was received a second chance in the Grand Finals, and also the fact that San Marino is once again in the Grand Finals right after Valentina's success in 2014
 
I WAS S C R E A M I N G INTERNALLY HOPING SLOVENIA WOULD BE THE LAST QUALIFIER AND THANK GOD IT BECAME REALITY. I absolutely hate you Erez, but that's besides the point.
They had such an amazing atmosphere on stage, and I'm just SO glad they made it to the Grand Finals, as I can now cast all my votes upon this piece of art.

I kind of enjoyed the performance, but allas, they were still doomed to fail. Really did enjoy the song, but eh, life moves on.
really thought they would have a chance </3 At least Poland can stay proud of Tulia's contribution to their participation this year.
how in the name of god did this fail? I kind of had this outside of my top 10 in the semis, but oh my god this did not deserve to not qualify.
Az en apam had a genuine authenticness that fit Joci to the max, and to see this fail to reach the final makes me really gutted </3
I may have liked the song, but everything about the performance, including choreography, props, vocals, Eliot himself, just felt way too stale for it to even go anywhere.
It's a shame, because the song did have its potentials, but everything just made it move backwards than anywhere else.
I was still highly skeptical over it qualifying, but damn did this performance look good over this song.
The song may be one of the more disliked ones in this years contest, but Oto can be damn proud that he at last provided a performance which a lot of people still enjoy to see.
absolutely ROBBED of a final place. I had my worries about this a few weeks prior to the contest, and It's sad that it became truth in the end.
While the stage might have looked a bit to dark for this entry, I still saw the uniqueness of it all, and still enjoyed what they provided. Would have easily replaced Belarus or Estonia for this, ugh.

Semi Final 2:

YAAAAAAAAAAAS. 7 years since their last qualification, and they've finally done it again.
Tamara damn sold that performance to the audience, and it sure made me impressed. So happy to have cast four votes on this one
no big surprise here, still, glad they've made it. Simplistic, yet a beautiful performance overall.
 
after all the disagreements of the staging, I thought this was as dead as they could be. but oh my GOD i'm so happy that i'm wrong.
Jonida provided well-respectable vocals, and while the staging might have been a bit "empty", I still found it enjoyable. Glad that there is still a support for the Albanian language
 
generally had no concern over our chances. Liked John's presence on the stage, and his vocal (and the Mamas) are still delivering + fitting staging for this kind of song (even though the background is a lil bit eh)
Glad that he made it to the finals, and I'll be fully supporting our boy, along with our girls, in the Grand Final o/
honestly, I found the staging to be ok at best, and he overdid his vocals at the last chorus imo.
nonetheless, it was no where near a surprise qualifier. so, good on you, Russia ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
that CGI effect during the bridge to the third chorus looked so tacky lmfao but GOD am I happy this made it.
the falsetto might have been an annoyance to a few people, but I did enjoy the delivery of his vocals, and the mugham in the bridge was SO GOOD.
while I had my doubts over the machines, they actually proved to be a good contribution to the performance, and didn't actually feel "out of place".
again, glad this made it, and hope it does great in the Final o/
OI WASNT EXPECTING THIS, BUT I'LL TAKE IT. I honestly enjoyed the chair concept, and the whole song just gives me the jollies, I can't hate it. Glad to see Denmark make it
This grew on me so much during the semi performance. During the rehearsals, it looked rather "ok", but this performance in the semi was just, wow.
Anyways, I'm still glad that the small amount of sami culture is still being appreciated here, and I'm looking forward for their Grand Final contribution
I seriously wasn't that fond of his vocals, nor the whole atmosphere and Luca's presence on the stage, but eh, not the biggest surprise in the end ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
announcing Malta as the last qualifier was so dirty omg Michela looked like she was about to pass out.
eitherway, there were a few moments where the camera work just looked really ugly, but in the end, the staging did work in the songs favour, and I'm glad it still did decently enough to qualify.

this came as no surprise to me during the semi broadcast. the stage felt really empty, Srbuk's vocals sounded off in a lot of moments, and... yeah.
Sarah's vocals honestly were rather weak for this, and the staging was also rather messy
the way she sang her "a"s just annoyed me, and again, the sand artist did not fit the song at all. next
I actually really enjoyed the calm mood this performance contributed, but again, It was fairly predictable that it wouldn't reach far, and it did become reality </3
I'm honestly gonna miss this a lot. The staging was great, really loved her dress, and Ester contributed as much as she could for it to work. Better luck next time </3

I somehow though this would look crazy enough to actually make people vote for it, and make it qualify. Kind of glad I was wrong.
While I do love his vocals, the song is the big problem with it. had he gotten a much better song, I would totally have given him all the respect he deserved.
while the song and performance weren't bad, it definitely showed that this wouldn't have gone anywhere. better luck next time, Jurij ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm sad cause the song was really good but the performance was lacking something
it was really good such a shame she was out but was expected
they deserved it so much❤️I'm proud, she was so good with emotions
were fine
they surprised me really good, but it was a really strong semi
I almost had a stroke, I thought for a moment she was out
  they were good as expected to be
was a shook to me, I like her so I'm happy for them
I'm so sad, she deserved so so much, it was a robbery I loved the performance, she was so good and she look so happy to be there

Why joke? I think many people wanted Romania to qualify, which means that the song was liked. It’s just rather bad luck. Every country has moments of glory and momente of flops. The only joke is actually TVR, and they way how they selected the entry in the selection. Like they really thought that inviting 2 wiwi members as juries was a good idea or that mess that was the televoting having just a 1/7 impact. Nothing against Ester but I really hope the broadcaster learns their lesson.

- It's a fun song to open with but it was such a bland and forgettable performance that I'm not surprised it failed to go through.
- Like Montenegro on Tuesday this was pretty dead on arrival - Unlike them however her vocals were truly awful - Last place alert
- The snow art was incredible but sadly it was the only memorable thing about the performance, the song is the definition of generic.
- What. A. Show! Finally after 3 flat songs the party got started, and great to see Switzerland is BACK IN THE FINAL!
- I really liked this song, it had such a nice chill vibe but it was almost a certain NQ and the staging did no favors.
- I thought this might actually qualify - The performance was nailed almost perfectly, but sometimes it just aint meant to be...
- Seems a few are surprised this got through - I'm not, it was a happy song about positivity, just like San Marino!
- What can I say here, Vocals were on point, backing singers are amazing and everything fell together! Will it win? we'll see...
- I'm a little sad for Pænda, the song was so emotional, in any other semi this would have probably scraped into the final.
- Another dead on arrival song, although I must say that the performance did actually end up pretty good!
- Genuinely thought she didn't qualify for a moment but glad she did, truly deserved and perhaps an outsider for the trophy?
- It's a shame this isn't in the final, however if it had qualified from this bloodbath semi then something would've been wrong
- Sergey is such an amazing vocalist and the staging as well works perfectly with the song - Not winner material but still Top 10
- Didn't expect this to qualify but I'm very happy it did, nice to have as many ethnic/native language songs in the final
- NORWAY WOW! People are sleeping on this entry and shrugging it off but I'm certain this is a surprise possible winner alert
- The favourite was great and it qualified as expected. Not much more to say, but its Duncan's contest to lose now
- Finally after 7 years and a name change they are back and in what a style - Tamara's voice is stunning and the song is so powerful
- Great, radio friendly bop here with some incredibly interesting robot staging - Welcome back to the final, you deserve it.

First thoughts:
and got tough draws but they should be able to overcome that - worried for though...
Interesting they put the two cheerful positive songs and right together
got probably the best draw they could have with that half of the show
stuck between and - Thats going to hurt them bad
gets the Lordi and Loreen spot and surrounded by two generic tracks - I'm very happy by that!
Great news for , , and - I reckon is a bit too late

Clearly this didn't work as a show opener, Srbuk has improved her vocals immensely and I actually really liked the whole performance, but after 17 other songs this got forgotten which is quite sad.
Sarah darling, I literally have no idea why the Irish team chose this staging but it wasn't a good choice for sure. The videoclip had this throwback, cool vibe, which actually suited the song, I think that would've been a much better direction, but this just wasn't enough for a qualification.
Okay this was 100% deserved FOR THE SONG. Anna and the sand artist were amazing but there was literally nothing that could've saved this horrendous song, also this got super forgotten by the end of the show.
Honestly his vocals were much better than I expected them to be, and obviously the stage show was phenomenal, I think the Running Order clarifies that this was at least Top 5 in this semi and has really good chances for an overall Top 5 too.
So much quality, really pleasant song and voice, but overall this wasn't enough to qualify, but this was a genuinely nice effort. They did the best they could.
NOOO what a robbery omg. Ester was AMAZING vocally, and the staging really made this song powerful and outstanding in my opinion. The only reason I can see for their NQ is that it might've come across as too much to the viewers, but I really enjoyed it, will be missed from the Final.
 ugh don't get me started on this one, I think it' enough if I say this was my last place in this semi...
 Obviously this works really well with the audience, John is charismatic and Sweden actually has a good song for once, easy Top 5 but hopefully this isn't the winner.
The biggest robbery in this semi. I know that she was really emotional the whole song through and that damaged her vocals, but the mood and the staging really elevated this and I actually had goosebumps, from a NQ in my list this moved to my 3rd so I'll really miss them from Saturday
My mom was crazy about this and I can honestly see why. The staging worked, Roko is a stellar vocalist, and his harmony with Jacques was also really powerful, I thought this had a small chance to go through, but overall I'm not surprised and I can live without them for the Final.
This was so intense, like I was rooting for them so much and Michela's reaction was so lovely, she is amazing. Great song, great performance, some sharper camera angles and this is ready for the Top 10, although the first spot won't help her at all. Really deserved, one of the best songs this year.
 The only thing that didn't work here was the staging. Prior to the semi this was a big favourite of mine, but last night it didn't connect with me at all and I guess that was the case with the viewers at home too. As wiwibloogs Suzanne would say: "Where are the lions?". Disappointment of the night.
Sergey delivering yet again an amazing song with an amazing performance, but this time he can finally proe that he's also a fantastic singer. His spot in the Running Order really surprises me, it seems like Björkman doesn't consider him as a favourite to win, we'll see about that.
Yeah I literally had 0 hopes for their qualification, but I'm so glad they did it. Jonida was pitch perfect and so were the vocalists, the staging worked cause it wasn't too much, and overall best of luck in the Final, they'll need it from #02 (which really surprises me btw).
This was just as expected, Alexandra is a great vocalist but the other didn't convince me and neither did the song. I'm not sad about their qualification, but in such a strong semi there were songs that were closer to me and didn't pass, so mixed feelings about this one.
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Amsterdam 2020 that's all I have to say, my winner delivers
7 YEARS. Holy crap. Well done to Tamara, what a lovely person, even though her song and staging failed to connect with me, I'm super happy about their qualification and best of luck to her in the Final.
Again obvious qualifier, he was great and the song is really catchy, again the camera angles could be tighter and then it would be an even better performance, their running order spot implies a big Top 10 chance and I wouldn't be sad if that was the case.


Overall I'm happy with 8 qualifiers, I'd only change with and with (!!!), but all in all we'll have a superb Final and I can't wait to watch it. Best of luck to all the countries! ^^

I loved the performance, but something missed, the stage looked empty and the song could be forgotten easily unfortuantely, this is also my 'biggest loss' as they were my 6th overall.
Not bad, the performance was cute and they did what they could with the song they had, but of course an expected NQ.
The performance really lifted the song, but it wasn't enough.
Well it got me exactly what I expected from it, an explosive choreography with a great live, it was great
Am I the only one who enjoyed this one? But yeah, it wasn't enough to qualify either.
Awh I really thought this had chances, but considering how tight this semi was I'm not THAT surprised. The performance was very powerful, I really liked it overall
Welp this was actually my favorite from this semi, a guilty pleasure, having it 3rd in my overall top I'm shocked it qualified, there were like only 2 'free' spots, and I can't believe they managed to take one of them, of course a very pleasant surprise for me. The performance was alright, I prefered the NS one though.
Well, the atmosphere of ht esong is great, the song is cheesy enough, it works. Although it got boring for me very quickly after it got selected
There was a lot of hype regarding this one during the rehearsals so I thought their staging would be INCREDIBLE, but imo it wasn't
This was interesting I mean the song is still one of my least favorites but the performance was interesting, at least they tried
Amazing! Great staging, great energy, I loved it, had to doubt at all they'd qualify
Unfortunately my least favorite of the semi, due to the bland staging, literally nothing happened during those 3 minutes, even if he did his best and was vocally great, there was nothing to remember the song from.
This performance was very outstanding, but I kind of expected more from Russia, they always give a 'winning shot' performance, and imo this one doesn't really have a chance. Overall very good though
BEAUTIFUL performance Very elegant and powrful, this surprised me a lot and it grew a lot for me during the show
This was alright, it's one of my faves (5th), but I kinda' expected more, the performance wasn't as powerful as it could have been.
Of course this was one of the best performances, the message was well delivered, the execution was great, the simple but effective performance, it truly has a chance of winning eventhough song-wise it's still not between my favorites, sorry
This was nice, I'm very happy they finally qualified after such a long gap, unfortunately for me it was with the song I liked the least from them in recent years but ah well Still very enjoyable

In too deep 2.0, this felt empty and her vocals were shaky and not good enough for an opener, if this was later It would have chances but it just got forgotten in the end, it is sad knowing how exciting the whole fandom was when she got announced and high expectations she had prior releasing Walking out and after. Hopefully she could return with a better luck ig
they were there, performance didn't help them improve their situation at all
well this was ok ig, it didn't lift the song up. smth like the MV would work better than Fuego copy performance and especially as song is similar, doing this really driften their chances but it was an obv qualifier, cannot say I am shocked
it was beautiful but stale and that lead to an expected NQ sadly
Robbed, I mean I get that performance wasn't the best, it was too much wrapped into 3 min and her voice was way deeper than usual for some reason, sadly I think whole 1st half in general got forgotten so

3min of realizing how Jacques did him wrong with the song. His vocals were on point, he is amazing which I knew since he won our talent show but like couldn't Jacques give me some kind of non-cringe ballad instead like smth Zeljko had or smth cause we had wasted potential here but no, he had to go overboard and ruin his chances to get a good result for Croatia with this song and performance....
I knew this would q as last, I honestly had no doubts ngl... she was great live, performance was vivid and fun and she is coming to the top 10 prob, jury friendly and like we had Malta q as last before (2016) so it isn't a shock they did this, her reaction was so priceless, I mean she is young and obv it isn't easy to be in the position as her being announced last n

I am happy in general even though seeing the performance I see why ppl saw it as potential nq, but ig song is good enough for the final so glad we didn't left this off in the semis love how Albania keeps q-ing since they stopped transioning in English, good lesson for many other countries
Fun performance, love Sami elements in the staging, it has a potential to do really well as it will have a massive appeal in tv
Great performance, his voice is so good and he gives emotion in it, ppl say piano it unnecessary but I don't agree, even though it didn't look that exciting as he didn't really do much, piano gives it a special vibe to the whole performance, def a winner potential, I would say his chances remain as they were, we are going to the Netherlands next year I guess
Honestly, congratulation for the 1st final since 2012, going back to the ballads after so many dance pop/pop attempts to be modern. This just does what Goodbye couldn't staging wise, simple but effective without distracting dancers. Macedonia got it 1st time and I couldn't be more happier. Result says it all I guess. I screamed when they qualified.
it was good, I like the song, staging was innovative but like not a winner. I see it as a very likely top 10 if not sure. The huge rise in BO was honestly questionable as this didn't really Snatch me but I really like it and as I said enough for top 10

Great results I love 9/10 qualifiers like I said for . It will be a very exciting final and I hope for a best result for Nevena though final is enough imo though would be happy if she can bring us another top 15/10 but I highly doubt we will place that high in the final as it is so strong and our draw kinda sucks but lets hope for the best x
