Qasentria's Captain's Statement

Retiring national team members Kameron Martel (top) & Choi Yeongchul

With the regional cup and the world cup on the horizon, a pair of members of the Qasentrian National Football team, 36 year old striker Kameron Martel and 34 year old striker Choi Yeongchul announced that they would be retiring from the National Team. Martel in a twat following a press conference stated that "i know my time is up. it's time to give the younger generation another chance to step it up. thank you for the 16 years at this level. i can't wait to see what the younglings bring". Choi echoed Martel's sentiment, and also announced that he would be seeking a position in the QSR. Currently, 6 strikers are currently favourites to take their spots, and they are; Chu Sungyeon, Hsiao Jingyi, Kam Sukeong, Im Suyeon, Rui de Reuter, and Setagawa Naoya. They are likely to unveil who will take their spots tomorrow.

2021 FANA WORLD CUP
LAKADAMIA KNOWS THEIR OPPONENTS.

Yesterday evening, in Marianne, Qasentria, was hosted the allocation draw for the Group Stage of the 2021 FANA World Cup, set to be hosted this autumn in Namimori and Qasentria. Lakadamia, one of the 4 qualifiers from LTFC, and who barely managed to make it to the world cup, was able to get the chance to know their opponents for the first three matches of the World Cup.


RESULT OF THE DRAW OF THE 2021 FANA WORLD CUP

Lakadamia is now set to partake in Group C, along Dýria, De Vremdspongeln and Torlova.
It will be the first time that Lakadamia will be playing those three countries as part of the World Cup.

After the result of the draw, the Lakadamian coach, Didier Desprairies reacted:
"We have to appreciate that we received a great group, not too strong, yet not too weak, as I'm sure the matches there will be serving, some countries got less lucky than us. Considering we barely qualified for this world cup to begin with, after a catastrophic qualification period and a missed opportunity during the Regional Cup, the 2021 World Cup is our last chance to make the Lakadamian football stage to shine once more

I do believe that the matches from this group will be showing spectacular gameplay, especially from the Torlovan team."

Previously, Lakadamia took part in 5 of the 6 previous world cups, only missing 2018. And even taking the responsability to host the 2017 World Cup. To this day, the federation has managed to reach the quarter-finals on two occasions, in 2016, and on home-soil in 2017. In Astonavia, last year, Lakadamia reached the Round of 32, barely losing to Jarea after a strong match from both teams.

However, Lakadamia almost missed the occasion to participate in 2021 following a messy year during the LTFC Qualifications (2nd place in Group B, yet not enough to secure direct qualification), and two matches against Demacia, ending in a 1-0 for Lakadamia. Also including the LTFC Cup, where the country lost to Hwaesonna and failed to win the penalties in the 3rd-place match against Achroa.



NEW RAILWAY LINE • PAVLODIA
A NEW RAILWAY LINE WITHIN PAVLODIA.

The railway system of Lakadamia is known to be one of the most practical system in all of Fantasia, despite that most services goes from Pavlodia to the rest of the country. The SNCL (Société des Chemis de Fers Lakadamian) has been working to make this possible for decades now, and yesterday, they opened the first part of their biggest plans yet: A new railway line that passes through Pavlodia.

Before the opening of the railway, the trains couldn't pass through Pavlodia, their only option was the Moyenne Ceinture Pavlodienne, a circular railway around Pavlodia, passing through no railway station, a not practical way to connect, as all of the major railway station within Pavlodia are all situated in a terminal situation. The new connection between the main stations of Pavlodia-Anau and Pavlodia-Dèlmivdie, offering a West-East connection is also set to be the first plan of a bigger project within Pavlodia and it's urban metropolitan area. Including the opening of a second railway, offering a North-South connection:

The inauguration also included the opening of a new railway station, Pavlodia-Parlement, the first located within the center of the capital city. The station is set to become a central connection between the Métro Pavlodia and the railway system of Pavlodia/Western Lakadamia, as the line offers 6 Métro lines distributed between 2 stations. The future North-South line that is currently being built will also offer a connection to the railway station, adding more stops for this station. The building of this included to build two new railway stations below the existing stations of Pavlodia-Anau and Pavlodia-Dèlmivdie, to offer connection for the two terminal railway stations.

This new line is completely underground, and possess 4 tracks, 2 passing through the newly built station. The second tunnel - that will also pass through the station - is set to be opened in 2022.

Redemption and Return to the Final

Anavae, Sirenforest's representative for the current edition in Shkeera, has brought the country back to the final after a 6 edition non-qualification streak. The duo didn't get to Fantasia easily, however. They took part in the second edition of Destination Fantasia with their song "Hell" but lost to Enemy Inside by a couple of votes. As for Enemy Inside, they brought yet another non-qualification. According to singer Rebecca Need-Menear, they were asked to come back to Destination Fantasia to try and seek redemption due to the margin. After discussing it with Jamie Finch, the other member of the duo, they decided to go ahead and try again. They sent in "Skeleton", thinking that they'd place second again. Rebecca stated "Blind Channel is literally in the NF, how are we gonna beat them?" They advanced to the first ever superfinal in Destination Fantasia history along with Blind Channel, Sumo Cyco and Nevertel. And just like the original GF, they won it too. Jamie said "All we wanted to do was represent Sirenforest in the Fantasia Contest. We didn't care if we qualified or not, as long as we got to take part it'd be worth it."

Sirenforest will perform 14th in the grand final, between Ruyjin Republic and Flirskmasto.

E-Scooters Are on the Rise

Most people in Sirenforest will witness someone riding an e-scooter, and it's due to the Sirenforestian government approving them as an official means of transportation. They're allowed to only go 20 km/h as a safety precaution. Sirenforestian band We Butter The Bread With Butter made a song about e-scooters called 20 km/h and it has been streamed immensely with the rise of the scooters. Good luck not ever witnessing someone ride one.

Referendum on the Death Penalty Included in the Upcoming Election

The 2021 election is coming up, in which congressional elections are the norm. There will be a few referendums but the most notable one is whether the death penalty should be abolished in Sirenforest. The death penalty has been rarely used and is a hot topic due to the fact of a mass execution happening a year ago under the DeSantis presidency. One of President Emmy's goals is to try and abolish it, but in a democratic way. According to them, they said "I'm hoping that I can get this abolished. DeSantis already did enough damage to this country and I'm trying to fix it. But it's up to Sirenforest's citizens to decide." They are due to have a press conference in the coming weeks about happenings in the country.

At the moment, 69% of the country's citizens said they would vote to abolish it, 27% said they are unsure and 4% would vote to keep it.

RAIL PROJECTS BEGIN IN SOUTHERN WULFOR

FIRST PHASE HAS BROKE GROUND IN U.U.

the planned oustone plass station, which will serve as a through station for most maglev lines.

the first international maglev line planned by ulikana broke ground last tuesday just outside of clabassaville. this is the first line of the planned maglev network consisting of twelve lines connecting ulikana to the southern end of the u.s. eldance. as of last week, the planned lines are set to serve dostluk, ishtienej, ramsź, wolfsweg, belcoast, alverton, hoomoo, ñopi, kosi, cherla, and san lucas before terminating in various cities throughout the southern states of the u.s. eldance. the project has gained notoriety for being one of the most well-organized and timely infrastructure projects in all of fantasia, as well as the largest maglev project of its kind. this project, coupled with the existing and under construction high-speed rail network within ulikana, hopes to eliminate the need for cars in long-distance travel within southern wulfor. political leaders of the nations of ulikana, dorma, lab rador, moowaus, freyhurst, vacansa, the harish islands, tremenoria, lakadamia, and the u.s. eldance met today in west kitland to discuss how to further connect southern wulfor to create a megaregion of industry and production. the two socialist-led governments present managed to establish agreements to keep all industries using new infrastructure state-run and unionized. more news regarding the finalization of the planned routes is rumored to disclose within the next week.

ATHLETES GEAR UP FOR FANTASTICS

KRONO TO HOST GAMES IN FALL

the fantastic training center at vexburgh opened for athlete arrivals last week.

hundreds of athletes have gathered at the fantastic training centers in vexburgh and bristree to begin preparations for the inaugural second-era fantastic games held in krono, fordia. athletics stars daluchi bassey, luda sidorov, and ewa akpan are among the trainees currently in bristree. while vexburgh is the bigger of the two training centers, multiple facilities at the bristree center would've served as official venues, had clabassaville's fantastic bid been successful. over one hundred ulyck athletes are expected to make an appearance at the games, but the final list of participants from the union won't be known until qualifying rounds end. athletics and aquatics are expected to be the most attended sports for ulikans.

MORE FLAGS REVAMPING.

More than a year ago, some territories have started to create new flags for their territory, all of them for different reasons, either for the aestetism, or for a flag that would unite their inhabitants. And some for a neutral emblem, due to political reason.

These territories are:
1. AT of Appleplains, which decided to change their flag due to the presence of the apple in the flag, now stated as a political emblem, due to its use by the various independent movements, which wants to make secession from the Federation, using all method possible, including violence.

2. Territoire de l'Est, stating that a simpler flag would be more representing the territory and the unity, with the two colors of the territory, Purple and Black.

3. Territoire d'Iciya, again, to make a simpler flag, and to show that the territory is also centered on the sea, with the 3 main regions (the north, the inland and the greater moshia), being represented on the flag with one star for each.

4. AT of Dèlmivdie, which decided to revamp their flag and reusing some old elements from a flag, at the time the Autonomous Territory was not part of Lakadamia.

NAME CHANGE • JAPANISA
THE JAPANISAN TERRITORIAL GOVERNMENT RENAMES THE TERRITORY

For years, the inhabitants of the Autonomous Territory of Japanisa, entierely bordered by Iciya, and possessing a maritime access, have been more and more requesting for a change of name, which according to them, was "not an official representation of the territory, and was just a Lakophonied name to represent them". And these voices for year have been growing, up until weeks ago, where the Japanisan government have agreed, with the Lakadamian government, to rename the territory. The name has been selected by Shibusaki Haruma, a known Lakadamian writer of Jaranese descent, now living in Qasentria.

The new name which was selected is Shisaka, meaning Luxurious Hill, referring to the topography of the Territory,
The change will be effective by October 2021.

QUESTORMAT • THE CELEBRATIONS HAVE NOW BEGUN

Le Festival de Quéstormat, held every year on the 3rd week of September, has now begun. This festival is very important for the Brittonic population from both Lakadamia and  Dýria, as it is one of the ways to seal a friendship between two group of populations which share the same culture for more than a thousand year. Since  Quéstormat have now accessed full cultural & linguistical independence within the Lakadamian Federation, this Festival was set to be the most memorable, yet.

Officials from both Lakadamia (Prime Minister Jonas de Mésathi and Culture Minister Adam Chressier) and  Dýria (President Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir, Brittonic Politician Aziliz Le Peuc'h and Head of Ofis Publik ar Brezhoneg Yann Þórsson) have been invited for the opening ceremony, hosted in Loriant.

The honor invitee for this year's festival is Dyrian/Lakadamian singer Nolwenn Leroy, known in both countries for her songs in Lakadamian, but also in Brittonic, and for being one of the cultural Brittonic ambassador between Lakadamia, Quéstormat, and Dyria.

The fesitval will be starting today on the 19th of September, and will be ending on the Saturday 25 September, marking for yet another year the festivities, comprising of multiple parades, dance, singing and cultural events, on the island of Quéstormat, but also for the first time, in Pavlodia.




POLITICS • POLL VOTING
A NEW POLITICAL POLL HAS BEEN RELEASED.

The Political fever is starting to gain in Lakadamia, yet again. 8 Months after the previous elections, which led to the current political situation within the Federation, a poll directed by an independent agency and revealed by the TRLK, with the question "If the elections were held tomorrow, for which party would you vote for?" and where 2500 people were asked, showed surprising results (only parties with 5%+ are shown):



The results shows that for the very first time, the Green party Les Verts En Garaenn are now taking the lead in the intention of votes, with 29% of the votes, followed right behind the Parti Socialiste Lakadamian, with 27%. The Parti Libéral follows in 3rd place, while the Front De Gauche also confirms it's growth, with 11%, it's highest to this day. Another party showing growth is the Parti Pirate Lakadamian, where before, stagnating at around 4 to 5%, have now reached 9%, mostly attracted by a younger population. And finally the last parties are the Far-Right party Alternative Lakadamie, pointing at 6% and the Parti Républicain, at 5%, their worst to this day. This is the first time that a poll including the Far Right party shows them not being in last.

Within the upcoming 9 months will be held the territorial elections, in the 26 Administrative Divisions of the country, from Damavil to Sothala, passing by Pavlodia, Quéstormat, Iciya, Evelya and all of them. These elections will be showing if the PSL/VG/FG government is working well, with sitting at more than 75% of approval, or if the PRL will continue its downfall.

The Flag of Pohunskia has Official Changed!

For many decades the people of Pohunskia have been asking for a new version of the flag that better represents the nation. The government of Pohunskia has finally decided to change the flag. Hundreds of designs have been put forward and one has finally been chosen.



The stars signify the eight stars of our great federation. The eagle represents our nation using the bird that was used to find the land we now call Pohunskia. The olive branch being dropped off by the eagle represents our dedication to peace and cooperation.
