 The aftermath of the Lyusans plane crash
After a few months of struggling to identify the plane origin and its eventual route, the guard coast took contact with an expert hailing from  Shinkoyu. According to the expert, the plane was supposed to land in the capital of  Glaray, however he had no idea whether the huge deviation happened due to an internal malfunction or just a simple error made at the plane production.
"I must agree with the local authorities - the plane wasn't capable to withstand such a journey, especially with so many people on board. We're not entirely sure what caused the pilots to deviate from the initial route, but nonetheless the tragedy could've been avoided if the plane wasn't used at all. It's devastating, really. But we hope that such an incident won't happen yet again."
From the 475 people on board, the huge majority hailed from  Ninelie, where it's assumed that the plane flew from there towards Glaray. No one knows exactly what made the pilot to go back to the point where it started flying, but something did happen in the mid-half of the route. Presumably they tried to find the shortest way to land safely, thing that didn't really work out quite well, unfortunately.
None of them survived.
Among the passengers on board, 430 were from Ninelie, 15 from  Sirenforest, while the rest came from other nations.
Alkyria didn't seem to escape the tragedy either - as 3 victims were identified hailing from the mainland.
2018 - IPSEF's Predictions
(estimated to be only 40 in the whole Fantasia, this little porpoise's chances seem to be minimal, even if it's been made struggles to save it)

In late August - early September, the Alkyrian Minister of Environment and the head of the IPSEF, alongside other members, scientists and volunteers, have gathered to compare and to estimate the numbers of the plants and animals on the whole Fantasia. With the scientists around the world and with several projects made in order to find out if several species managed to progress or decline, alongside the way that climate change or external factors influence the respective species numbers, they've been placed under this chart:
(the simplest way IPSEF could put it into one tiny graph, it gradually shows from the most numerous/common species (LC - Least Concern) to the ones which vanished from the surface of our planet (EX - Extinct), as well as the Data Deficient & Not Evaluated categories for the newest species found)
Among the ones possibly going extinct in the next 5 years is the Lakita. (the image above)
Often found on the coasts of northern Wulfor, this porpoise is just about the size of a regular dolphin, but with distinct features, such as the "panda face", as we like to say. The main cause for its rapid decline is mainly due to excessive fishing and climate change - but unfortunately, it's declining to an alarming speed, as in the past 5 years, there's been estimated as many as 450 lakitas roaming around.
As the usual happens, the amphibians are the most vulnerable, alongside the endemic species of plants and animals. Pollution, deforestation, poaching and especially introducing the non-endemic species on the territory have been the major issues behind the rapid eradication of the native ones, and to put the cherry on top, the climate change playing the central role.
Among the extinct species in 2018, there's only been 1 species so far.
Toughie the frog, the last specimen from its species, died back in May at the Mango University in  Harish Islands, therefore making the Harish brown frog officially extinct.

The Alkyrian president, Joanne Nekrugi, is willing to meet in the next days with the members of the Le Coal alliance in order to discuss several topics regarding political, cultural, demographic and ecological issues. Furthermore, Nekrugi will travel in  Lakadamia in order to meet the president of the autonomous region of Nouvelle Alkyrie (or New Alkyria, if you can't into Lakadamian), as well as strengthen the ties with Lakadamia as a nation.
The Alkyrian Ministers of Environment, Danielle Zirakov and Serik Naybov, will travel in  Achroa and  Lanovina in order to discuss with the founders of the alliance about their plans and a future association between the IPSEF and L3ACC in order to combat both climate change but also increasing protection of the endangered and critically endangered species in both nations. |

Achróa gripped by monumental protests
in the wake of Lanovina climate change deal Some 400 Achróais citizens buried their head in the sands of Vinéon's Tengo Layo Beach, mocking Polidaç d'Agróa's "puniness"
Much of the Achróan archipelago has been brought to a standstill as the intensity of anti-government protests amplified - from small-scale gatherings in the main city of Trangueli to nationwide rallies - following the signing of a highly-controversial climate change deal (the L3ACC) between Achróa and Lanovina.
The governments of Achróa and Lanovina, prior to the L3ACC, were embroiled in a huge diplomatic feud over the North Pole and the influence of the Northern Union. While the Achróan government insisted it was acting in the best interests of the indigenous North Pole population, Lanovina's government played down Achróa's rhetoric as irrational envy. The diplomatic crisis came to a climax in Spring 2017 when Achróa threatened Lanovina with a UNF tribunal over the exploitation of human rights; this was thwarted by an Achróan parliamentary vote against the tribunal and a subsequent internal political crisis. Since then, relations between the two governments have been like a dormant volcano - steady but similarly volatile.
Following the failed tribunal, the Achróan public began to garner anti-Lanovian sentiment, blaming the nation for Achróa's internal downfall and consequent loss of influence as a world power. Since the crisis came to an end last September, Achróa has gradually picked itself up to a more prosperous position, although the Achróan wariness in regards to Lanovina has not subsided.
So when Ainia d'Loralat - apparently to nobody's knowledge except her cabinet - went on a week's trip to Cöhln and came back announcing she had made a climate change deal with Lanovina, the whole archipelago was taken aback.
The ruling Polidaç d'Agróa (PA), which the Leader Ainia d'Loralat is in charge of, remains so conflicted on the issue that nobody from the party has given a statement yet. The Liberii d'Agróa (LdA) berated Ainia and her cabinet for their "lack of transparency and consultation with the Achróais people," and the PdC (the Conservative party, simply known as that) called the PA out on their "atrocious diplomacy and their hypocritical approach to basic democracy."
The Achróais people too are confused and angry. There was nothing forthcoming to suggest the PA's sudden change of heart towards Lanovina would happen, and certainly nothing to predict that the PA would betray the public's interest.
The protests in Achróa have gripped the nation so badly that all educational institutions in the country have had to shut down for the first time in recorded history, and in a particularly shocking incident, a crêpe was thrown at the perimeter of the UNF's Fort Gila earlier today on the island of Verançel, causing the whole facility to lock down for two hours. Elsewhere, people have been burying their heads in sand across many beaches in the nation to mock the Polidaç d'Agróa - in Achróa, burying one's head in anything is a metaphor for cowardliness.
Ainia d'Loralat is expected to make a statement later this week as she and her party decide what move they should take. She is expected to emphasise the importance of tackling climate change while simultaneously trying to a calm a nation down. What is certain, however, is that Ainia is now facing the biggest challenge to her leadership to date. |

FULL INVESTIGATION INTO THE AUGUST  SJÓBORG ATTACK CONCLUDED
An investigation into the biggest attack in Dýrian history in over 10 years has finally come to an end.
On the 22nd of August 2018 at 21:30 DST, shots were fired in the center of Sjóborg, the capital of Sjóland and the 2nd largest city in Dýria. Police later found that wanted Sjólandic terrorist Beinir Finnsson was behind the attack that lead to 16 deaths in total. 15 died at the scene, and a 16th victim who suffered from serious injuries later died in a Sjóborg hospital. 37 people were wounded - the attack took place at a Fordian restaurant on a fairly busy Wednesday night; with the weather being good, many decided to dine outdoors.
The nationalities of the victims and the injured are listed in the table below:

The two citizens from Decoria and Fordia were returned where they could rest in peace.
Today, Dýrian police concluded that the attack was a deliberate terror attack in response to the Dýrian government's actions towards the far-right Sjólandic nationalist group, the Sjóland Liberation Movement, which has been banned in both Sjóland and also Dýria proper. In June 2018, members of the group were arrested for plotting other such attacks and for burning the Dýrian flag in Sjóborg.
Beinir was also a key member in a terror plot by the group in 2008, where Dýrian and Sjólandic relations were sour; the plan to attack Dyflinnjaborg, Sjóborg and Tráway was quickly foiled and Beinir was arrested once more. In fact, smaller cities such as Naoned were also included in the plot.
In recent years, he has voiced his hate of president Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir and has denounced her work as a way to erase Sjólandic culture and the idea of an independent Sjólandic state and has used profane language to describe her. President Egilsdóttir has made it clear that Sjóland will not seek independence again, after discussions with regional politicians, and given that the 2015 independence referendum was rejected by 73% of eligible voters in the region, independence is not favoured anymore by ethnic Sjólanders, with a 2018 poll showing only 9% would support independence. He also stated many times in his diary that he was against NU membership, even though a majority of people in Sjóland support it, and that he did not consider himself Dýrian. He refused to speak the Dýrian language, and also stated his dislike for the Irsan and Brittonic communities.
He was put on high alert by Dýrian authorities and was extradited back to Dýria in 2016 after spending 3 years in Lanovina. The 2018 attack was planned since April 2018, but it was too late when authorities tried to prevent it.
As it stands at the moment, Sjóland still has a yellow warning by the Dýrian Department of Foreign Affairs. Tourists are advised to remain vigilant and to be aware of their surroundings, although the population are continuing to move on from the tragic incident. President Egilsdóttir has stated that while Dýria is back to normal, the memories of this attack will leave a permanent mark on the loved ones of the victims, and the entire country as a whole. We must stand together with everyone effected by the event, to let terrorists know that we will not back down, and that their tactics to haunt and damage our lives will not work.

 Torlova to seek for military support at the  Vremd government Earlier this week, the Prime Minister of De Vremdspongeln released an open letter to the public, stating that the Torlovan president has reached out to the country, and asked us for military help at the ongoing war between them and  Corzazjan. This is what Matthias Wessels wrote: The open letter was well received by the public, and numerous officials suggested that we should strengthen our military, to defend ourselves in case of a possible attack. No further news on these speculations were given by the government. A referendum on this topic is expected to be held soon. |
