WWW Song Contest #67

Welcome everybody!

Here in this thread you can discuss everything about our 67th Edition in  Montreal, Canada!

The submissions officially start now! Deadline: 6th of November (Tuesday)

The rules of the last edition apply, here they are:

IMPORTANT: Confirming isn't enough, just a submitted song guarantees your place in the upcoming edition! Only the first 51 spots are safe, the people submitting afterwards will take part in a Pre-Qualification Round and compete for the 3 remaining spots, making it a field of 54 in the "main competition"! The maximum number of entries so that there is no Pre-Qualification Round is 55.

Already reserved are the hosts, the Top 3 from last edition and those who voted as members in the Rest of The World Jury last edition. If any of these fail to submit an entry in time, he/she will lose the secured place.

We're looking forward to receiving your entries!  

Please let us know if you want to withdraw so you don't get tagged anymore.

Live or Leave to return to the WWW Song Contest!

The representative of Azerbaijan in the 64th edition of WWW Song Contest, Live or Leave, which is often labelled as "Linkin Park of Azerbaijan" is back to compete for the victory! Their cover "Crawling", originally performed by Linkin Park, is dedicated to Chester Bennington, the lead vocalist of Linkin Park, who passed away on 20 July 2017, as a tribute. We wish them best of luck in 67th edition

Ireland to go back to the Irish language

Yesterday I mentioned that a returning group will represent Ireland. And it is none other than Seo Linn, who represented Ireland with "D'aon ghuth amháin" in the 49th edition, where they placed 9th.

This time, they will participate with Bain an glas which means "unlock" in English. Although they do have an English version of the song, I'm not going to send that since it sounds much better in Irish. Take a listen below:

Anyway let's get back to business 2018 and my Wwwsc entry.


Mattiu Defuns - Under the same old tree


Timeslot: 0:44 - 1:08 (although it may not be the strongest one, but Imo the other choruses are just messy when cut down to 25 seconds...)

First of all I'm not that familiar with this artist. In fact I met him earlier this year when this song became played on the radio. Although Mattiu doesn't sound like that, I read just 2 days ago that he's born in 1998 which'd make him the second youngest participant of mine ever.

Under the same old tree is a special Swiss entry since its verses are in Romansh. With that the language makes it's second appearance in the contest after #51. The song's about the fact, that you don't have to go far, but can find everything at home. One just needs to look around.
