After a late meeting last night, NHK have sadly failed to have an artist apply, therefore a decision has been made from a majority vote that Japan will be withdrawing from the contest this edition.

SUBMISSIONS ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSED!

You probably noticed that we left the submissions open for a bit longer than what we had originally announced. That was in order to clarify whether some people would eventually participate or not. However, we are happy to announce that this edition will have 49 countries competing!

Despite some countries having decided to withdraw (either permanently, either just for a single edition), we would like to welcome back Denmark and Poland with new players and also welcome our players for Chile and Philippines who will replace the actual players we've had just for this edition!

Btw. I'm actually surprised how long it took Denmark to return. Same for Malta sending Ira Losco lol. Also nothing against the "replacement participants", but did it really have to be that song...?
