Pronunciation guide: I-o-wuh (Iowa) De moyn (Des Moines) Illinois (ill-i-noy) Oregon (or-i-gin) ("g" as in 'gate' and "in" as in 'Inna') Boise (boy-zee) Arkansas (ar-can-saw) Nevada (na-va-da/na-vah-da- debatable) Maryland (mar-uh-lind) (not Mary land) I could also tell you how people in the south say some of them funny See, it's De-moyn, not Du-moyn (and that came from an actual American). What about the state of Connecticut? Is it pronounced as Conne CTicut or with silent CT as in, Conne-ticut? My relatives reside in Stanford, CT so I know the pronunciation is Conne-ticut (not saying the middle CT) but my former classmate who enrolled himself in a call center school thinks he knows it all and keeps on insisting that Connecticut is pronounced as ConneCTicut. He's even correcting each and every state pronunciations I make (like Arkansas is pronounced as Arkansas (like Kansas) when I know that it is pronounced with silent S as in Arkan-saw) but still I know all of the state capitals hands down. Stupid call center schools, they think they know everything when they don't.

"Cunennicut" is how I hear American Youtubers pronounce it.

I can also name all the provinces in Canada and Used to be able to name all of Australia's states I'll try naming some Canadian territories (but I don't know their capitals): 1. Nova Scotia (meaning New Scotland) 2. Nunavut 3. British Columbia (where Vancouver is) 4. Prince Edward Island 5. Quebec 6. Manitoba 7. Yukon Territory Okay, that's all I can name. As for Australia, as what I've PM'ed Nick yesterday: 1. Tasmania 2. Victoria 3. Northern Territory And that's all I can name. I'll try the 4 kingdoms of UK too (along with their capitals): 1. Edinburgh, Scotland 2. Cardiff, Wales 3. Belfast, Northern Ireland 4. London, England
