France comes back with... Sandrine François was the French representative at Eurovision Song Contest in 2002. The same year, she released the song Celui de trop. Despite the high quality of her voice, she completely disappeared from the stage a few years later. Timeslot: 1:36

I sincerely welcome you all back to Latvia! Even though it's not the warmest of seasons out here atm, I hope you'll enjoy your stay! Going for Riga as the host city was the obvious choice the first time, but I already knew that if I'll ever again have the honor to win this contest - we will be heading to a city that is special to me (it's actually my favorite latvian city in general, because I just love the aura there) This time is very special for me, because the host city for #65 edition is my birthplace - Saldus! Not only I've born there, I've also gone to school there for 3 years (10th to 12th grade). When Jasna will publish the images, you'll notice, that there will be some influence of honey there. And there's a reason for that - Saldus is the honey capital of Latvia! Even the name "Saldus" means "sweet", if you read it as it's meant in the phrase "Sweet dreams!" (latvian - "Saldus sapņus!"). But that's not all. I've also selected a song that represents the city like no other, because it's the anthem of this city. Even though the band (that already took part in #11 and #41) is based in Liepāja city, one of it's first members (guitar player) and a co-founder of the band comes from Saldus! Sadly he died in 1985, so the festival called "Saldus Saule" (just like the song title) was first organized in Saldus city in 1987 in memoriam of this member (it was actually organized firstly already in 1986, but with different festival name). Nowadays his son is the one who organizes this festival. It's the oldest rock festival in Latvia. Not only the instrumental was written by someone from Saldus - the lyrics were written by a famous latvian poet, that also comes from Saldus. Līvi - "Saldus Saule" (eng.: "Sun of Saldus" or "Saldus' Sun") (3:47 onwards, please!) PIC of the band (with the author of the song in it from early 80's): P.S. I am fully aware that this song might not do well (more likely be somewhere at the back of table), but this time I don't really care, because the most important for me was to use this song, once I have a chance like this no matter the result!
