Even though summer solstice is over, it's still summer nonetheless, so I've decided to use a summer solstice song. But it's not a usual summer solstice song. I don't know, how many countries in the world celebrate St. John's Eve (Jāņi in latvian), but in northern/eastern Europe we do (probably because of a strong pagan history in our region). On modern days a lot of traditions and beliefs have been forgotten, but our ancestors believed in a lot of things, and one of those things was that witches might appear in this eve and do some serious damage (not physical damage obvs, but material or health related). The night following St. John's Eve was considered magical night, so that's why in 
Latvia it's also referred to as Night of Witches. (you can read about that eve/night here - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C4%81%C5%86i#Witches)
The band Tautumeitas is quite new. Even though they sing traditional songs, they add some modern touch to them, so they aren't a "traditional" traditional music band. I once used this band in a NS, where they came 2nd with a different song. Now it's time for them to make their debut.

P.S. I personally know one of these girls - in the first picture she's the girl with the blue skirt (3rd from right). In 2011 we both applied and got accepted in the same program in University of Latvia. We didn't know each other before that, because we come from different parts of Latvia. The studies for both of us didn't last long - we both left these studies after the first semester, because we both didn't find them to what we thought/hoped them to be. Since then she's been busy with music (this band is just one thing she does related to music), while I applied for a different university (which I just graduated from).

Afterwards both artists had to go to the hospital for having not used any suncream or stuff at all because they didn't want to reflect the light in the video. I also read somewhere that the older one almost went blind.

back then many people were against me using that song, but no one seems to mind it this time around... my approach to this failed to impress - last place in semifinal... usually you would expect something similar to happen, but it's not gonna be the case here.. to be fair - I see it doing very well, even though the situation isn't much different than the one I was in a little more than a decade ago... but the result will be...
