Qara Dərviş (Black Dervish) is the first singer in the world to mix metal music with ghazal, an important poetic genre of Middle East/South Asia originating in Arabic poetry. Ghazals were heavily influenced by the ideas of Sufism, a mystical trend is Islamic philosophy. Azerbaijani literature, especially in medieval centuries, became a home to the ghazal genre, and it still maintains its significance in the culture of my country. The importance of Sufist influence is notable in the stage name of the next Azerbaijani representative as well - Dervish refers to those choosing to live Sufist ascetic lifestyle: depriving themself of materalistic possessions, taking a vow of poverty and engaging in spiritual practices.
The first (demo) album of Qara Dərviş, which premiered in 2008 consists of sufi* metal songs, where Saxtakar (Forger; Fraud) is one of my favourites. The singer was only 18 years old when releasing this song and this fact solely is very fascinating to me. My expectations are not that high with this song, but I decided to go with a song I love very much. I wish best of luck to every participant!

* This song is written based on the ideas of a religious philosophical viewpoint called Hurufism, a branch of Sufist mysticism. Hurufism stands for the idea of unfadable appearance of God, which is manifested in human beings, the best of the Created. Therefore, hurufis recognise human beings as "portrayals of God", and hence, hurifist literature (in particular, ghazals) equates the image of humans to that of God, going very further than the Islamic scholastic theology. Proponents of Hurufism also believed in letters (letters as in alphabet) in which God was believed to embody. The current entry of Azerbaijan, while deeming humans as a key to absolute truth on the one hand, reflects on the evil sides of people, on the other. The chorus of "Saxtakar" can be translated as following:
Unutma, mən Tanrıyam! (Don't forget, that I am a God!) Unutma, mən Saxtakaram! (Don't forget, that I am (also) a Fraud!)

Congratulations to SPAR Austria for the Win last Edition! A Really great Winner! That was so great that I don't have words! ferrygraf nochmal Herzlichen Glückwunsch das du für SPAR Österreich den Sieg beim Großen Preis des RWWWSC errungen hast! And it could be that there is a SPAR on the Picture! I would cry for happiness! Stop with that fucking SPAR thing. Nobody cares or laughs about it you're so annoying sorry I had to
