WEEK 4 DREAD YOUR PROPHECY | | "THE HIGH PRIESTESS" upright // intuition, unconscious, inner voice reversed // lack of center, lost inner voice, repressed feeling
| "AN ANGEL OF GREAT AND TERRIBLE LIGHT" // uboa 5:46+
| for this week, i decided to go for a song that i feel represents both the upright and reversed sides of the high priestess.
now time to get all travelling psychic bitch up in here and read this fuckin tarot card and connect it to the lyrics.
god/Him/He represents intuition and the inner voice. they describes Him as someone who created us and we should always listen and never doubt Him, for He is always right.
who/whatever is being mutilated (unconditional love?) is, of course, unconscious. people who are being mutilated are most often not awake and therefore; unconscious.
the singer (uboa) represents everything that the reversed side stands for. they doubt Him and it's as if she's about to reject him, therefore losing her inner voice, whom i interpreted as being the singer's inner voice. the singer also shows a lot of repressed feelings, they question Him and show a lot of doubt, but don't express it until their breaking point (the reversed high priestess can also stand for uncontrolled outbursts). the lack of center part is a very vague meaning, but she is clearly disoriented, lost and her thoughts are wandering all over the place, meaning her thoughts aren't very centered. this text however is.
a more detailed reading will be $9.99 and i accept all major debit/credit cards and paypal. | the grace of God is infinitely kind even though He left the door ajar
unconditional love whilst mutilating is a little too much love to bear
are we mistakes? or are we going exactly to plan?
women are made in His image like a broken photocopier
never apologise to Him for your sins while you inhabit a body
pruned in a way that it withers not pruned in a way that i grow
i hope He has this stained cloth too |

WEEK 4 DREAD YOUR PROPHECY -The Moon- Creature iris (1:55+)
I have selected "Creature" by Norwegian singer iris for it is a great representation of the tarot card "The Moon", which stands for illusion and misunderstanding of a matter on the recipient's part. Iris' song describes a disappearing relationship in which her lover loves her more than she does love him. The aftermath is her world getting clearer and her lover continuing to live on in her perfect fantasy. The song is also representing the moon on a visual perspective, with its beautiful sentimental style aswell as string and piano sounds.
From your house we could see the ocean Sorry you fell for a creature of the sea Such a waste to fall in love with me Always shifting, changing When you left, things started to disappear My body gone from the bathroom floor All I want is to not have to force it, my love
Let me keep you alive in my fantasy Hand in hand as we jumped from the high rocks Wet hair, driving around with the windows down You'll always be my summer, my sadness The bitterness It didn't make sense at all How your eyes lit up the room And I turned them off
Don't you dare ever think That it wasn't hard not to call you Don't you dare ever think I didn't mean what I said, no Don't you dare ever think That it wasn't hard not to call you Don't you dare ever think I didn't mean what I saidthanks fagni for the post layout

FONDALL KATS WEEK 4 // DREAD YOUR PROPHECY // the devil //
The Devil Tarot Card's key meanings are addiction, depression, mental health issues, secrecy, obsession, cheating, dependency, bondage, materialism, sexuality, powerlessness, hopelessness, abuse, violence and assault. (https://www.thetarotguide.com/the-devil)
serpentwithfeet - "cherubim" (2:28+)
"A cherub (/ˈtʃɛrəb/; plural cherubim) is one of the unearthly beings who directly attend to God according to Abrahamic religions. The numerous depictions of cherubim assign to them many different roles, such as protecting the entrance of the Garden of Eden." - Religious connotations that tie in with the devil at face value. However, I believe this song has many other connections to the Devil tarot card.
"I get to be devoted to him / I'm like his cherubim" - the opening line of the song immediately links to obsession/powerlessness as "he" is compared to God and thus in comparison, he is powerless
"Boy, as I build your throne / I feel myself growing" - links to addiction/dependency - Josiah’s (serpentwithfeet) love is so great, that it’s at the highest level possible. It’s practically regal, and deserves to sit on a figurative throne of dedication (obsession), that dedication being Josiah’s self-built dedication to this relationship. His lover is deserving of enhancing his relationship, thus bringing him to his very desire to continuously build upon that relationship. By doing so, that relationship not only helps them grow together, but it also helps Josiah’s well-being grow along with him (addiction/dependency).
"I get to keep my mouth filled with you" / "Oh, I love the taste of you" - I won't explain how sex works but I'm pretty sure this links to sexuality though still in the same distorted way that the rest of the song works
(and ALSO, since this worked last time, THE GAYS, and like, all gays are going to hell so that totally works with the devil tarot card)

"Crash" by Hogni Egilsson Week 4: Dread Your Prophecy
''The Tower''
1:07+
As this week's challege it's very up to interpretation, I'm going to explain why I chose this song and why for me it represents the essence of the tarot card ''The Tower''. As I researched for better understandin of what this card simbolizes a I found this:
''When the Tower card appears in a Tarot reading, expect the unexpected – massive change, upheaval, destruction and chaos. It may be a divorce, death of a loved one, financial failure, health problems, natural disaster, job loss or any event that shakes you to your core, affecting you spiritually, mentally and physically. There’s no escaping it. Change is here to tear things up, create chaos and destroy everything in its path
Just when you think you’re safe and comfortable, a Tower moment hits and throws you for a loop. A lightning bolt of clarity and insight cuts through the lies and illusions you have been telling yourself, and now the truth comes to light. Your world may come crashing down before you, in ways you could never have imagined as you realise that you have been building your life on unstable foundations''
Now with this in my perception I interpretated the songs a simbol of things taking a turn of events suddenly and going into disaster, for me it's like a car going speed on a dead and end and crashing. Now the song starts by talking how He feels very confident and stuck in a speeding car that it's even a accelerating, this simbolizes a situation. Then he talks about how slowly taking a bad turn and getting lost into a void into a car crash, this car crash simbolizes a suddenly turn of events that gets into a chaos. He says he remembers a light flashing, this could be made into a relation with the lightning in the card, that simbolizes the strike that chnage everything. We can see in the song how it starts calm and slowly, we can hear a heavy breathing in the background that gets faster and at the end of the verses the song takes a sudden abrupt change into a more chaotic rythm, also we see in the video how gets a more chaotic enviroment they play with red and green lights, as it seems very chaotic and confusing.
However the part that make more cohesive it's the last line where he says: ''I can go wherever I please'', before explaning this I wanna also show the last part of the card explain it says:
''This means to let this structure self-destruct so you can re-build and re-focus, This destruction will allow new growth to emerge and your soul can evolve. After a Tower experience, you will grow stronger, wiser and more resilient as you develop a new perspective on life you did not even know existed. These moments are necessary for your spiritual growth and enlightenment, and truth and honesty will bring about a positive change, even if you experience pain and anxiety throughout the process.the Tower card is your opportunity to break free from the old ways of thinking that have been holding you back.''
All this disaster and chaos that the song had stops at the end of the song, where we can see him looking at the sky, in a more calm enviroment as he goes into a new directions. This line means that all this crashing and disaster is an opportunity for a new focus, for a new path that leads into a better place, it's the change to evolve, he can go wherever he pleases, cause now that all this mess happened he can break free and rebuild a new path to follow. All of this is very simbolic and in my perception all this car crash simbolizes perfectly what ''The Tower'' means in Tarot.

| LYRICS
[Verse 1]
In a car that is speeding
With sumptuous seating
I revel in the feeling
Feel the torque of my insides
In a dynamic body
My need of exceeding
I can do whatever I please
[Verse 2]
Then I'm lost and I'm cold and
There is void in the open
Just a sound and I'm broken
I remember a crashing
There was light - it was flashing
Through a door that was open
I can go wherever I feel

Pisa GarbitsHeather Woods Broderick Wyoming2:35+ I was assigned The Fool as my tarot card. Upright, the Fool represents innocence, new beginnings and free spirit. Regarding the upright characteristics, "Wyoming" suits the Fool well. From the start, Broderick describes the beginning of a new relationship and the whole innocence - "mother's yard" and "on your shoulder I rested" - of it. Doing further research, I read that the Fool is there to show that you can never really tell what lies ahead, and you can only greet it with joy which essentially encapsulates what I was trying to say about the first verse. Likewise that can also be interpreted as you are living in the moment and not planning for the future, which is explored in the second verse. All the joys of the previous relationship Broderick had are cancelled, because reality has finally come to make her realise that her first love is the love she really wanted in the first place.

Lyrics: When I think upon the day we met The sun was shining, in my mother’s yard we sat Later that day I got in your car and we drove west By the end of the night, on your shoulder I rested
We’re older now, and many years have passed You’ve got a young one now, and you’re making this one last For the sake of my lover at the time, I let it pass And I’ve tried to forget, but I do regret it
Just passed Wyoming, there’s nothing around But a broken down shell of a house in the distance With no road to even reach it I’m a house I’m a house I’m a house And you’re Wyoming I’m a house And you’re Wyoming

EPISODE 4 • "DREAD YOUR PROPHECY" Mathew Horrod Agnes Obel - "The Curse" 3:03+
And the people went into their hide, they oh From the start they didn't know exactly why, why Winter came and made it so all look alike, look alike Underneath the grass would grow, aiming at the sky
It was swift, it was just, another wave of a miracle But no one, nothing at all would go for the kill If they called on every soul in the land, on the moon Only then would they know a blessing in disguise
The curse ruled from the underground down by the shore And their hope grew with a hunger to live unlike before The curse ruled from the underground down by the shore And their hope grew with a hunger to live unlike before
Tell me now of the very souls that look alike, look alike Do you know the stranglehold covering their eyes? If I call on every soul in the land, on the moon Tell me if I'll ever know a blessing in disguise
The curse ruled from the underground down by the shore And their hope grew with a hunger to live unlike before And the curse ruled from the underground down by the shore And their hope grew with a hunger to live unlike before
Tarot card: Death Upright: End of Cycle, New Beginnings, Change, Metamorphosis Reversed: Fear of Change, Stagnation, Holding On
The meaning of the Death card is actually quite simple and doesn't really relate to its name. When upright, the card basically signals that one major phase in your life is ending, and a new one is going to start and that you need to put the past behind you in order for the new phase to start. When reversed, the card still signals change, as it means that you have been resisting change, not setting yourself free from any kinds of curses that might be still haunting you, thus not allowing you to let go of the past.
I've chosen Agnes Obel's "The Curse" for this week's floorshow, as I feel that the card's meaning is really reflected in the lyrics. The first two verses accurately depict the reversed meaning, as it mentions people being hesitated and scared to take risks and make changes ("and the people went into their hide, they oh" / "but no one, nothing at all would go for the kill"). The second verse then ends with "only then would they know a blessing in disguise", referring to "the curse" which is death. Agnes describes death as a blessing because, as you can see in the chorus, people are afraid of "the curse", they are afraid of the premature ending of their lives and as a result, they want to move on with their lives and take risks as they won't be living forever, thus reflecting the upright meaning of the card. ("the curse ruled from the underground down by the shore" / "and their hope grew with a hunger to live unlike before")

GENNA CIDE WEEK 4 • "Dread Your Prophecy"
"Myth" - Beach House 3:00+
| I was assigned the tarot card of The Magician. I went into several sites to discover the true meaning of The Magician, and it helped me come to a satisfactory conclusion.
The song "Myth" by Beach House perfectly represents The Magician. Listening to the song, you feel like floating in the air. Additionally, the lyrics encourage one's capabilities to do anything, whether it's something you desire or it's a needed change in your life. It's a card driven by constant change from within one's self regardless of consequences. Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said that "change is the only constant of life."
"Can't keep hanging on / To what is dead and gone If you built yourself a myth / You'd know just what to give Materialize / Or let the ashes fly" |
LYRICS
Drifting in and out You see the road you're on It came rolling down your cheek You say just what you mean And in between it's never as it seems
Help me to name it Help me to name it
If you built yourself a myth You'd know just what to give What comes after this Momentary bliss The consequence of what you do to me
Help me to name it Help me to name it
Found yourself in a new direction Arrows falling from the sun Canyon calling would they come to greet you Let you know you're not the only one
Can't keep hanging on To what is dead and gone If you built yourself a myth You'd know just what to give Materialize Or let the ashes fly
Help me to name it Help me to name it

DONNA THE DYKE WEEK 4 DREAD YOUR PROPHECY The Hermit Orphan Holy Wars (2:52, 2:58, 3:14, 3:26 - I think 3:14 is the best but I'm not sure)
Upright: Soul-searching, self reflection, spiritual enlightenment, self-focus, isolating yourself in order to recover Reversed: Too withdrawn, too reclusive, time/need to come back to the (real) world, apprehensive, isolation, paranoia, loneliness
This week I was assigned with The Hermit. The Hermit has many different facets to it, as I have signified above. "Orphan" perfectly connects with both the upright, as well as the reversed meanings of the tarot card both sonically and lyrically. The sound that permeates throughout the song is a palpable sense of crushing loneliness that is aided by the angst of the isolationist doom-rock instrumental.
The song's initial message is in relation to the death of both of your parents within one year, which perfectly matches both the upright "self reflection" and "isolating yourself in order to recover" as well as the reversed "withdrawn" and "paranoia". This is exemplified within the lyrics of the song, which touches upon all of the elements of the card as well as the message of the song.
"You've been sitting silent waiting, when the world around you's moving on" relates to isolating yourself from the world, in order to recover. "Everyone that you know, they will all go away in time, and you are left alone" quite clearly refers to loneliness. "These soulless eyes that greet you, we are the ones you've left behind" refers to those that you left behind on a path to reclusiveness. "We're lions now" shows that a line was drawn under things because The Hermit signifies that now is the time to do that. "Crowning of an orphan" truly exemplifies that the loneliness will reign supreme.
The death of both parents clearly will lead to loneliness. Loneliness as an epidemic is one that is still treated with a taboo, despite the fact that a tenth of adults suffer from these emotions which ultimately leads to chronic health problems.
You've been sitting silent waiting When the world around you's moving on Think you got the darkness in you But you don't know what would be gone
Breathe in Breathe out
Everyone, everyone that you know They all will go away in time And you are left alone So dip your head in gold
A kingdom waits for you Heads will roll, heads will roll, heads will roll
Oh what has come to pass you? You're not the only empty kind These soulless eyes that greet you We are the ones you've left behind
Everyone, everyone that you know They all will go away in time And you are left alone So dip your head in gold
We're lions now We're lions now
Everyone, everyone that you know They all will go away in time And you are left alone So dip your head in gold A kingdom waits for you
Crowning of an orphan Orphan Orphan Orphan
Everybody comes and goes away Everybody comes and goes away Everybody comes and goes awaythanks fagni AND daniel for the post layout also this search was a very stressful search which literally made me paranoid xx thank you alex for giving me this card love you
