Tunisia returns to the contest
Tunis, Tunisia - April 18, 2315CET
After a short absence, Wataniya 1 has today confirmed that the Arab nation will indeed be present in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest in Luxembourg, after finally attaining the appropriate funding needed for Tunisian participation to continue.
In recent editions, Tunisia has seen unprecedented success which the delegation is keen to maintain. Tunisia achieved its best results in two consecutive editions - 28 and 29 - after failing to qualify since their debut in 8... with an Italian song. After a shakeup with the Arab delegations prior to 31, Tunisia decided to withdraw to give itself some breathing space and time to think of a new approach, stating that a return in 32 was highly likely.
At a press conference held earlier today, Wataniya 1's team said the entry would be selected internally, and would look at organic Tunisian talent as opposed to diaspora. Tunisian legend and pop queen Emel Mathlouthi has also been ruled out. Furthermore, the entry has already been chosen by the Tunisian delegation, although it has yet to be sent for approval. It also remains unknown when the entry will be announced.
The song Tunisia will send to Luxembourg has been described as a hybrid between folk and post-rock, and similar to Morocco #26, although with a hi-fi production. The song is also fully in Arabic, with no anglicisms. Could this turn in direction prove fruitful?
Stay tuned!

Luxembourg to host the North Vision Song Contest 32 Last edition, Luxembourg defied all odds to win the thirty-first North Vision Song Contest. This was an unprecedented moment in the history of the country's participation and the contest, which made the broadcast surpass it's all time high viewing back in the twenty-fourth edition.
However, with the budget of the broadcaster being lower than many across Europe, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg could not immediately accept its right to host. Nevertheless, the broadcaster successfully lobbied for a temporal budget increase from its parent company RTL Group. This is in addition to government and municipal assistance, as well as local sponsorship that stepped up to celebrate Luxembourg's music scene.
With that said, RTL is proud to announce that Luxembourg will become the smallest nation to host the North Vision Song Contest since Iceland did seven years ago. Additionally, some rumors have indicated that Luxembourg will select its entry nationally. However, a final decision is expected within the month.

SPAIN CONFIRMS! Today, the 20th of April 2020, the head of delegation of the Spanish broadcaster RTVE, Juan Ribero, confirmed that the nation will definitely be present at the thirty-second edition of the contest.Juan Ribero: "The team and I are saticfied with what we have achieved last edition, reaching 21st in the Grand Final. Of couse we had hoped for more, but after the scandal proir the contest we couldn't really have hoped for anything more. We hope that we can deliver something amazing for the thirty-second edition without any bumps in the way there,"Besides the news that the Iberian country would return to the North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster announced that the next entrant would be selected through the second edition fo Festival Ibérico.
FESTIVAL IBÉRICO After Mala Rodríguez won last edition's Festival Ibérico, the festival is back in session. The co-operative show between the Portuguese broadcaster RTP and the Spanish broadcaster RTVE has received lots of positive feedback, hence why the show returns.Juan Ribero: "As I said in a prior statement the way we wanted the 31st edition to go wasn't how it turned out, however we do see that the festival had it's impact on the contest. We want to congratulate Pongo by getting Portugal it's deserved 7th place, knowing the actual winner would've scored even better gives us enough motivation to continue with this beautiful project."
The logo of the second edition of Festival IbéricoSpain has participated a total of twentyfive times since the country's debut in the first edition of the contest. The country was off to a rough start with in the first decade only qualifying two out of nine times. This changed mid-second decade however with the country only non-qualifying two times up the twenty-seventh edition. Most notable with Iris in the sixteenth, Alvaro in the nineteenth, Lorena in the twentythird and Lola in the twenty-sixth edition, all placing in the top 6, automatically placing the country in next edition's final. Although initially confirming an internal selection process, the head of delegation of the Faroe Islands has announced in a press conference that the Faroe Islands will have a National Final. Unlike previous National Finals, there won't be a televised show this time around. "We are trying to listen to what the fans of the contest in the country have to say about selecting a song, after a lot of our preivous attempts did not work out, we had decided to take a break from the contest to re-organize. We have asked an internal jury of 12 music professionals from all over Europe to help us out finding an entry. The amazing feedback we have received, left us with five amazing songs we would like to present in an online selection for the public and the fans of the contest to vote on."
"Sangur 32" is the name of the selection that the Faroese Broadcaster KVF has chosen for the National Final. The five songs will compete in an online vote, which will make up 50% of the final result. The other 50% will be collected by the international jury that had already voted in the two previous round of the selection process. The five entries are to be presented in due course.
