WWW Song Contest Awards #8

Hello everyone and welcome to the WWW Song Contest Awards #8!

Just like in every Awards Edition, we have the 3 basic award categories: 'Winner', 'Runner-Ups', '3rd Places'.

The 4^th special award category was chosen to be 'Almost Through'. The songs nominated are basically the songs that came 4^th in the 2^nd Chance Round, most of which basically missed out by just a very few points (or even by 0 points, but didn't win the tie with the 3^rd place...).

You may start voting from now!

The deadline is set for Saturday, the 25th of April!

Voting is of course optional and in case you have any entries nominated, you are free to vote for them as well! In case you decide to vote, please try voting in all categories so that there is consistency.

Votes should, as always, be sent to either ferrygraf or to mimisthesc  via PM.

I'm a big fan of the special category. Because since I don't seem to be able to get higher than 10th place it's the only way for me to get to the awards. And I'm always in that one.  Also it's funny that Son of the desert was actually a rather random selection.

Are you surprised about it? i mean it's not really a surprise to see UK and Sweden dominate this contest, while Germany dominates Retro WWWSC. UK here has managed to do exactly the same as Germany did in Retro WWWSC in their last 10 appearances - 6 times top3.

I'm absolutely not surprised by that. Otherwise that'd mean I'd be sleeping on the results.

But I wasn't aware of that comparison to Germany in Retro Wwwsc.

Well, No Turkey

Can we talk about the fact that the winners award is almost completely female? Even the only exception aka Hotel Walls is mainly sang by her so that's almost 100 %.

Also I just realized that all winners from #71 to #76 are really impressive vocal performances.

I voted in all categories.


For me all of them are enjoyable with the 3rd places being the one I had to think the most - because that's also the only category where I would say at more than 50 % of the songs - "yeah, I don't like that"...
