SSoA returns with a new format and a bit bigger selection!
Introduction
I planned a duel for each edition in Retro decided by one person only, now let’s do something similar for the main contest as well, on a bigger scale.
I want to give this format a chance along with the songs participating in it. I think it’s interesting and it could be a lot of fun. You don’t have to understand it, but I will try my best to explain.
The downside is, that it consists of 4 rounds and it’s hard to retain voters over more rounds. So if people get bored or uninterested I’ll put the NS on hold for a week or longer. It depends on the interest how long this will take. I’m looking for an even amount of voters between rounds, or more in the final.
How will it work?
In the first round, there will be 4 duels. You vote for 1 song each duel.
One song will proceed and duel against the winner of the other duel and the losing song will battle it out with the loser of the other duel. In the first round, no one will be eliminated.
In the second round, two songs with two lost duels will leave the competition. Two songs will also have no lost duels and move to the final (and skip round 3).
In the third round, the songs with one win and one loss will duel for the final two spots in the final.
In the fourth round aka The Final, you will have to rate the songs from 1-10. The one song with the most points will be the winner and the participant of #85 or #86 depends how interested everyone is.
This graphic is showing the process of the rounds and duels. It is colour coordinated to help understand. The small numbers 0, 1, and 2 are referring to wins the songs have at each stage.
What do you have to do?
Round 1: Vote for one song in each of the 4 duels.
Round 2: Vote for one song in each of the 4 duels.
Round 3: Vote for one song in each of the 2 duels.
Round 4: Rate each of the 4 songs from 1-10.
In case of a tie, I will cast my vote which will be determined before the round starts.
I hope you can enjoy this National Selection, as the songs are something that I like and I know my taste is not anyone else's . But there is a big variety, so I hope you find something worthy to support.

Time to introduce the acts and songs
Inmate took part in EMA for the last two years.
They are a metal band, but they present themselves with an acoustic version, which sounds like a completely different song.
Inmate - Hold On Forever (Acoustic)
Nait is Jan Jenko, a past member of the band Torul.
They took part in SSoA before and won, but didn’t qualify in WWWSC.
Nait - Light Leak
BQL took part in WWWSC three times.
The first time they didn’t qualify from SCR, the other two attempts were more successful.
Unlike the other entries, this one is dressed in folk or polka.
BQL - Na frišno (Newly)
Polkaholiki is a new boy band making modern polka songs. Sobica is their second song.
Polkaholiki - Sobica (Small Room)
MRFY and Matter are an indie rock band and a rap duo respectively.
They have been on the music scene for a while and decided to band together to mash the two genres.
MRFY + Matter - Zonzei
T.M.S. Crew and Miha Zore is another combination of genres.
The former is a hip-hop group, while Miha is a rocker.
T.M.S. Crew & Miha Zore - Kar seješ, to žanješ (You Reap What You Sow)
Solution is a new boy band making pop songs.
They took part in EMA Freš pre-qualifications but didn’t make it. Eno is their second song.
Solution - Eno (One)
Imset took part in WWWSC before and placed 17th in the final.
In the meantime, they changed genre to pop-rock.
Imset - Upornika z razlogom (Rebels With a Cause)
