Since some days ago there has been a rumour that the 10th edition of OUSC is going to be the last one, I want to say that this information is FALSE and that OUSC is not planning to close its doors in the next months. I understand where these rumours are coming from as lately the editions are taking a lot of time to prepare, that's why I come to announce something that has been happening since some editions...

CO-HOSTING OF THE CONTEST

Due to my personal lack of free time and dedication, the Host Broadcasters of these last editions have been creating the recaps and/or results videos. That's why I want to announce publicly that the trend will continue. The winner broadcaster will be asked about their availability to create the recaps and results, even being able to collaborate with the runner-up or Top3 state if they wish, creating the videos together and as a team due to the lack of active staff in the OUSC Council. In case no agreement is reached, the recap will be organised by the OUSC Council or using the new platform Recap.Tube.

AVAILABILITY OF SONGS

In order to continue showcasing the recent musical diversity in the United States, it has been decided to adopt new rules regarding the release date of the songs. Using the date of the confirmations as a reference, the states in the category (1) will be allowed to send songs that are not older than 5 years; the ones in the (2) category will be allowed to send songs that are not older than 10 years. The reference for the states categories can be found here. These changes will be implemented starting with the 10th edition.
