I would have ideally voted for Howie Hawkins/Angela Walker had I been a US citizen since my worldview falls somewhere between ecosocialism and green anarchism. Nonetheless, under these particular circumstances, my anti-Trump stance would have become more relevant than my ideological affinity in terms of my voting behaviour. While presidency of Biden will not lead to elimination of systemic violences inflicted upon by the corporate dictatorship, it is still a much better choice compared to the paleolibertarian madness of Trump, in the short term. Thus, I would have voted for Biden.

Alright, according to several sources Joe Biden officially made it. That took a while lol because if I remember correctly the last few times we knew it the day afterwards.
What happens now will be interesting.

Well congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on their successful campaign, smashing the voting number record is no small feat and it was very refreshing to hear a president elect who actually speaks like a president and a leader for once But the reality is that the United States has a lot of soul searching to do now in the coming months. Trump also broke Obama's 2008 voting record after all, this was no landslide victory in the popular vote and the results show that the country is more divided than ever before. This year has been characterised by political violence on both sides with the vast numbers of protests and rioting across the United States and while it is understandable given the anger caused by mass instability with covid, this level of voilatility cannot continue and while Biden is definitely the right man to bring the country together, this is not just a responsibility for its leaders. If you are American and you voted for Trump, commiserations to you. You are feeling now the same anxiety and disappointment that Clinton supporters felt back in 2016. You may have mocked them back then, not realising how it felt. Well now you know. Biden supporters, congratulations. Though I expect most of you were among those feeling worried 4 years ago - don't forget that. It's time to show understanding to those with differing opinions to ourselves, to respect peoples different concerns and to listen to the concerns of all Americans. If you have family, friends or neighbors with differing ideologies to yourselves, reach out to them. Show some kindness to them. Try find some common ground you share. See beyond their choice of candidate and instead for what they are - your fellow citizens. And please, stop labelling the other side as fascists or communists - these are extremist ideologies detested by the vast majority of voters for both candidates and throwing around words like that benefits no one. It's time to come together as one people, one nation, one United States of America. You have a long way to go. But there is no better time to begin that journey than now. Europe is watching you and we wish the best for you along the way.
