Obviously congratulations for the best result since #64 and after many failures. However, I find it quite sad that the country's 2 most recent qualifications have only been with diaspora artists - I am sure there are local artists with songs that could potentially qualify and do well... I personally think this was overrated. So far, I've only seen the country going for artists who are technically French with Algerian parents and I understand there are loads of those but I would personally also like to hear something from a local Algerian singer... We already have France in the contest, I don't think we need a 2nd one. I couldn't agree more! Thanks for making me not the only one having these thoughts.

Netherlands was my favorite song of this edition and would've got my ... and I'm pretty sure it would've worked the same the other way round with Netherlands awarding Latvia it's , but unfortunately the forces were against us and we were never given a chance to support each other, which is a shame... After using male acts for the last 6 editions, the next edition, as you already know, I'm sending a female artist. I had a plan to send female artist (though I had a few male artists in my mind as well) already without knowing the results of this edition, but the bad luck of mine was just another big push that made this choice in favor of female... obviously it doesn't mean that I will score some good results with it, but seeing the female domination in this contest for the last 20+ editions, I guess we all have figured it out that it's way more likely to get a good result with a female artist than with a male... As for the overall results - the fact that from all my given points my did the best is not what I really wanted to see, but it's not the first time happening, so I'm already used to it... Obviously congratz to Finland and everyone else, that did well, but being completely honest with you from the whole top 6 I'm really happy only for Malta, which is one of the most underrated countries in general. I would've preferred them to win, but I knew that it won't happen... Let's hope for better luck next time...

The maltese result (and mine as well) gave me an idea to look through the data to see, which are the most underrated countries of this contest... and with that I mean the countries that have gone the longest distance and still haven't managed to win. So here are all the countries, that are still waiting for their first win in this contest and have taken part in at least 65 editions: 1st Malta - 88 editions 2nd Greece - 85 3rd Latvia - 72 4th Azerbaijan - 70 4th Croatia - 70 (with whopping 17 NQ's in a row, which I think is a record of this contest) 6th Philippines - 67 6th China - 67 8th Russia - 65 P.S. Normally I would be happy about a top 3 position, but this top 3 isn't the one I'd like to be in...

Also I may be wrong, but Malta hardly ever wins in music contests in general and Russian wins often take their times as well - at least I think so.

First of all, thank you for the support and the 17th place. I hoped it could do better, but maybe the only way to judge male acts is with your help (NS). It was a very male edition which made me think it was even easier for a female to win. I liked the winner, but not quite as much as our collective opinion. The best song in the top 3 was Malta. This was a very good entry, which I didn't think would achieve quite that much considering their success in the contest, but I'm thrilled and overjoyed with this result. They deserve better in general. The times they don't even qualify with good songs is very saddening to me. Enough about that, I'm happy for (yay) and . Whilst I expected this result for , I didn't think would do worse than me. Thanks for a very colouful and fun edition. I had a lot of fun being very engaged in everything as an AQ (now back to semi-lurking). See you in Finland last normal edition of the decade with a returning artist after a very long time.

Congratulations for the victory, a great song What's up with these extremely close results lately? Already the 3rd time in a row the 1st and 2nd place are 2 points or less apart. In any case congratulations for this 2nd place Very pleased for them, the first AQ spot for Malta finally (as it has been written by some already) Nice song, well done. It turns out to be a very successful decade for Belgium This singer seems to be popular, funny enough it's almost the same result as 2 editions ago, just one spot lower and two points more One of the surprises of this edition (at least for me), well done for the 6th place Same here, perhaps less surprising than Hungary though Well done for the Top 10! Philippines established themselves well, didn't miss a single final in this decade so far. Happy this finished in the Top 10 eventually, I thought it might have potential for an even higher position. Must have been the longest mp3 file we've had in this contest The recap part was probably perfectly chosen here Nice one, deserved Top 10 Thought this could do better, overall a middle position in the final isn't too bad for it though. Very underrated imo Nice attempt, after the 2nd place in the semi-final I thought it would do much better. Shows that semi-final placings often don't mean a thing Underrated, especially Italy Thanks to everyone who gave this some points I was sure this wouldn't appeal to everyone, but as it's one of my most played songs of 2020 I wanted to give it a chance as AQ entry, and with a Top 20 I can live well Glad some people apparently liked it Finally I'm glad I could host the contest once more in Austria, hope you liked the edition! I'm pleased how it turned out, pretty good quality song-wise too I think. Special thanks to Mimis for realizing this great design See you soon in Finland

Also I may be wrong, but Malta hardly ever wins in music contests in general and Russian wins often take their times as well - at least I think so. I understand what you mean, but I wouldn't say that any of the 8 countries I mentioned is sending particularly bad music... Obviously, there have been some bad choices, but who doesn't have them? I'd say it's more down to lack of luck... here's what I mean by that: let's take Malta as an example. You say that Malta hardly ever wins, which is true. I mean you wouldn't really expect it to win very often, would you? But "hardly ever wins" isn't really a reason behind this 88 edition streak... In IMF I recently had Luxembourg, which is another of the "hardly ever wins" countries, but that didn't mean anything, when I got 1st and then 3rd in the following edition with its local artists (I had Luxembourg for 3 editions only)... I'd say I had the right songs at the right time and place and a bit of luck as well - the fact that those songs were from Luxembourg (a country that hardly ever wins) didn't really play a role. And this edition was a good example, that Malta just lacked a bit of luck, because the song was strong enough to be a winner... I think we all can agree on that. My two 2nd places I'd say were also a result of a lack of luck, because both were good enough to win... this is the contest I've tried my hardest to finally get a win, but it's pretty much the only one I've failed to do so... idk, maybe it's down to this contest being THAT competitive and strong, but even that shouldn't be a reason for some countries to go 60+ editions without a win, if you know what I mean... I'm pretty sure we've all sent at least a few potential winners, but we just didn't get the luck we needed at the right time... Anyway, enough about this - what happened happened. It's all history, and we have to move on and hope that someday we will send the right song to the right edition and luck will also be there for us...

Well nowadays wins mostly with Foureira & Evangelia and both are among the singers which i want to avoid to send the most (No offence, i like them but i don't want to send Overused songs in general.) The problem is the current Greek music industry is not as strong as it was in the 2000s & Early 10s and it's not surprising that the Greece is not as successfull in the online contests as much as 6-7 years ago. Also another problem is that when something really good is released from that Country it will initially be Overused in the contests most of the time and therefore I won't be able to send it anymore, a problem which i don't have in the other countries i have in the contests.

Congrats to Finland, a worthy song! I think the results of the top10 are really fair, I'm particularly happy for Malta doing well, even though I couldn't give them any points this time. And of course I'm glad for my 6th place, it's been quite a while since I finished so high. Thanks a lot to Iceland for the ! We seem to like each other's songs lately, I like this direction. When it comes to the lower half of the scoreboard, I think Austria and France were really underrated, I enjoyed those songs! And Russia didn't deserve last place either. See you in Finland, I guess we are getting another snowy picture.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to even be on the left side of the scoreboard, let alone reach top 10 or even top 5. Thanks everyone who voted for Belgium! Especially , and for the 12 points! It is also great to see that I can do well without sending songs in English I have been alternating last editions with songs in our native languages Dutch and French and it seems to be paying off. Belgium will be back next edition with a song in Dutch again Finland is a great winner for this edition, so congratulations! I am just a bit disappointed with Poland's position. I was expecting them to do a lot better. See you guys next edition in Finland.
