As for our own entry - well, there were no real chances even before the show. Bookmakers killed them completely (especially in the last 2 weeks or so). It would take a revolutionary performance to beat the odds... the same happened to pretty much everyone that was predicted to NQ. Plus, we didn't really have any friendly countries to vote for us and we were sandwiched between some of the favourites, so I won't be surprised if we finished somewhere between 15-17th. And to be fair, our performance wasn't exactly great. IDK if it was the song or Samanta being nervous or something else, but something just didn't work right... I said it already and I will repeat again - imo bookmakers kill Eurovision and excitement about it.. In sports and other things bookmakers make things interesting, because despite all odds anything can happen and big favourites can fail, but here it's just killing the whole excitement... it felt like the performances aren't even needed, because without them we would probably have exactly the same qualifiers... Anyway, this is only my opinion - don't get mad at me if you don't agree... Well, it's not like the bookmakers are the reason Latvia did not qualify. Latvia did not qualify because the song wasn't popular and like you said the performance wasn't that good. I admit that in this year's semifinals the bookmakers were pretty good. But there were still surprises like e.g. Croatia. But favorites can fail and there are still big surprises the bookmakers did not predict (e.g. Norway televoting, North Macedonia jury 2019). And obviously the performances are needed. However, the bookmakers and many betters know which performances will most likely be good after the rehearsals start. So the performances heavily influence the odds, but the odds obviously don't make the performances obsolete. It's true that Eurovision results are probably more exciting, if you only watch the shows and not know anything else. But that seems not to be an option for us Eurovision fans. ^^ If the bookmakers being too good, ruins your experience though, you should probably try to avoid them. Don't blame the bookmakers for you being too good informed about the contest. I understand you a bit, but I think your reasoning for blaming the bookmakers is pretty flawed. Plus, despite the odds and everything else, I have no clue, who will win, and I am very, very excited for Saturday. I hope you are excited as me to find out, who wins. I'm not blaming JUST bookmakers... but they did play big enough role in the whole results as such... obviously our failure is mostly our own fault and the fact that we didn't have many friendly countries to support us + the bookmaker odds were not in our favour just as a whole worked against us from the beginning... and you say that I should avoid them, if I don't like them - well, it's not exactly possible to avoid them - then I would need to avoid pretty much anything that happens with Eurovision until the 1st semifinal... I am still kinda excited for the final and will watch it regardless, as I do every year, it's just not gonna be as exciting as it would be if your country takes part... but we're already used to NQing, so it's just gonna be like any other year... P.S. Usually we blame our selection system, juries and organizers for sending the wrong act, but this time the whole blame is being poured over Samanta. And even though it's not a nice thing to see happen to anyone, I can see why she kinda deserves it this time around, because from what I read, she doesn't think she did anything wrong, which is kinda arrogant from her side.. let's be honest - the visual performance could've been way better even if the song isn't the strongest. Anyway, enough about this... let's focus on the final!

Not the greatest semi, but it was good at the end. Thoughts on the performances: San Marino: This was A SERVE!!! Such a good performance. She's a queen, my 2nd favorite of the night Estonia : Mehhh...this was so boring lami, at least he sang well... Czech Republic: Methinks he was robbed a little bit. I know he was lacking energy and vocals but i think he should've qed anyways. Greece: This was bad....it was!! I knew it was qing anyways but MEH Austria: this was ok...it was just there kinda boring ngl Poland: Moldova: we all know why this qed... This performance was bad but equally funny tho, we had a laugh. Iceland: Such a shame they couldn't perform live It was a really good performance tho, but i think it was lacking idk Serbia: More like SERVE-ia iconique nothing else to add Georgia: zzzzzzz... Albania: Albania serving the vocals and a really good staging , so glad she qed. Portugal: Hate to admit this was good, I'm not a fan of the song but this was really good live, glad Portugal qed. Bulgaria: this was so beautiful but... i feel something was missing, like i did not get winner vibes . Still loved it tho Finland: This was so good, period. Nothing else to add. Latvia: I love her and i like the song but...this was not good unfortunately, i would've loved to see her make it but I'm afraid the NQ was deserved. Switzerland: This was my favorite of the night, idk something just clicked with me and I loved everything of it. Denmark: [2]

thanks again to everyone who made Gjon qualify! A comment of mine about the other performances (once more quite messy since I'm writing this freestyle lol): San Marino: I mean it was a thing when Flo Rida suddenly appeared. And I'm saying this as someone who knew about it beforehand. However I'm not sure what to think about the performance as a whole because imo those vocals were not it. Qualifying was never in doubt however. Estonia: This was doomed to fail from the first start lol. Good song, but not the best staging imo. Also Uku can sing, but especially in the first bridge - when he had to reschedule the second high note - I knew it was over. the Czech Republic: I had hopes for this song and predicted it to possibly get a top 15. :/ But sadly Benny was lacking a lot here - most notably power! I'm sad for him, but it's not undeserved after that performance. Greece: Yeah, they did tease something big and yes I was all excited for it. But tbh. now I'm really sobered because to me it looked a lot like someone tried Photoshop for the first time. Luckily Stefania had quite impressive vocals so there's at least something to be happy with. Yet she was never going to NQ imo. Austria: I was never a fan of this song - just like most of us I guess. What I liked a lot however were Vincent's vocals. I'd have loved him to qualify just so that I get to hear him again - but pls give him a different song ... However after that vocal performance I actually expected him to be able to sneak in. Poland: Lol that was a very bad one. He couldn't sing and everything else was very wtf as well ... Moldova: Now that's what I call a surprise qualifier lol. The song may be quite good, but her vocals were absolutely not. And although I originally liked the long note towards the end a lot, thinking back, it was actually horrid. Congrats to Natalia tho. Iceland: That was a really original "stage performance". And unlike Australia's didn't look like a tape to me. I'm still not sure what to think about the song, but I'm really happy for the group. Serbia: Originally there were lots of doubts inside me about Hurricane qualifying to the final. But then we got to see that performance - which gave me full-on K-Pop vibes btw. Very energetic, they went all in and imo deserved to move on. Oh and btw. I assume that Serbia - once again - got our televoting's . Georgia: Yeah, I guess this was there. Didn't pay lots of attention and won't miss it a lot. Albania: Also here I had some doubts about it qualifying. But then Anxhela turned into Iveta II and did just that. Her staging was a bit too red for my likings, but she gave a very powerful vocal performance to make up for it - and even without any backing vocalists managed to do that easily. She's obviously not going to win at all, but should be good enough to get Albania another 16th / 17th place aka where it usually ends up lol. Portugal: Wow that was a beautiful staging. They really managed to get the stand out song of the evening even more attention and a deserving qualification. But can they please return to Portuguese next year? Thank you. Bulgaria: Oh, that was a cute staging. Personally I'm slightly disappointed about it however because the song was growing on me, but now after having seen it live it's slightly growing off again ... Not sure why Victoria wore a pajama btw. ... Finland: Idk why, but for some reason I called them borderline qualifiers. Well it was a good staging (and I think the same as in the NS?) - particularly for a basic song like that. It also makes me happy that Finland, Portugal and Bulgaria were the probably most original songs here and all went to the final. ^^ Latvia: One word: Powerless! And I also absolutely didn't get what she wanted to show with that performance in general. The obvious NQ imho. Denmark: Well, it was good for a laugh, but it was a horrific song from the start and I'm totally fine having seen this once. Tbh. this final seems to be the most open in quite a few years (2011 maybe?) and now I'm very excited for how it may go. Oh and btw. did you people notice that this year most of the non-qualifiers had running order position 2 - 6 respectively 2 - 7?

Ok so time for my full thoughts on all 17 songs last night San Marino - Totally deserved qualifier, what an opener this was and of course Flo Rida was the crown on top, crazy to see San Marino being taken seriously but we love to see it Estonia - I genuinely thought this had a chance after the trainwrecks that followed it but it wasn't to be, a guilty pleasure of mine none the less but following the opener was always gonna be tough Czech Republic - What happened?!?!? This was a song with huge potential and Benny seemed he would deliver, then it all came falling apart so quickly... Sounded like he was ill or something but in reality who knows, either way potential wasted. Greece - I don't get why the Greeks here were shitting this, sure the green screen effect is really weird but this was never not going to qualify, its a solid track and Stefania is a good vocalist Austria - This was always borderline and it ended the wrong side of that line, I'm sad for Vincent as Alive was my 2020 top but this year he didnt match the standard and lost out as such Poland - Thats what happens when you replace an actual singer with a TV presenter and an awful song to go with sadly, the moment i heard the live i knew this was dead Moldova - One question: How the everloving fuck did this trainwreck qualify? Except the Europe note she was hardly on key, the long note was just her screaming and the whole song felt... just shit honestly Iceland - I've said it before - I genuinely think we can win this year. Daði and the band may not have been live at Ahoy but they sure were amazing regardless and I hope we are well recieved too on Saturday Serbia - Yeah I underestimated Serbia, this has a very good potential and I'll admit that now, the live performance shocked me in a good way Georgia - You know that feeling when you are too tired to stay awake but not quite able to go to sleep and you just sit there half awake in a chair staring into nothingness? Yeah thats basically Georgias entry Albania - Perfect example of an average song being transformed by amazing live vocals, Albania was off my radar the whole time but the performance sealed this as an easy Q Portugal - Similar to above but this time it was the staging, this was as dead as Georgia until we saw the rehearsals and wow have they risen since, this could really shock tomorrow Bulgaria - Victoria delivers this incredibly but I definitely dont feel any winner vibes from this, who knows though, maybe the final will prove me wrong.. Finland - What do I say. Amazing performance in every single way. This better do well. Latvia - Samanta Tina - tried years to get to Eurovision, failed every time. Its almost sad her experience ended the way it did Switzerland - Like Malta who also dropped at first - This is 100% still in contention for the trophy. Amazing performance and amazing vocals from Gjon and I think we'll see this in the top 5 for sure tomorrow Denmark - I thought this was a qualifier, really shocked and disappointed it didnt - ironically I think Iceland is party to blame for that since we kinda cancelled out their retro vibes with our own stronger song and theme.

Thoughts The performance was much better than anticipated but I didn't expect them to be announced first Honestly knew they could do it. True girl power I got goosebumps during her performance. She deserves the world ok I'm glad this went through but the fact that it was composed by Philip Kirkorov is basically all my family is gonna talk about during the finals I mean I'm ok with this going through. It's a grower No surprises No surprises. But if you told 8 year old me Flo Rida would do Eurovision, I'd call you a liar. This is so surreal and I can't wait to hear this song one more time This will go far I don't just like the performance, I love Stefania's stage presence. I congratulate her and Greece for something unforgettable It was either this went through or i threw something. So so so happy for them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was the most robbed. And I loved his sneakers. I'm just glad he could sing Some things are wrong w Poland. He screams "hello europe" during the chorus and wore sunglasses in an indoor arena I feel bad for Samanta because she was out of tune most the time and she was in Latvias selection many times. Wish her all the best tho a true guilty pleasure but expected

well im very late ig but Massively deserved qualifier. I loved the ethnic elements and she performed it amazingly. Albania now has a 3-year qualification streak of Albanian language songs so I hope they continue to send songs in Albanian as it's so refreshing to listen to. This was amazing. Hurricane are amazing performers and the song had so much energy. This was so deserved as well and, like Albania, I would like to see Serbia send more songs in Serbian in the future. At first I found this song unnecessarily depressing, but it's really grown on me and I really like it. the performance was beautiful and Victoria seems so sweet as a person. So very happy to see this qualify, although it was expected. Hopefully, this will do very well in the final. It's also very nice to see Bulgaria becoming a powerhouse in the contest after so many flops. The biggest 'surprise' of the night. I thought out of the other 8 songs, this was the most likely to snatch the 10th place in the final. The vocals were questionable but the song and Natalia's energy was amazing and it was iconic with the 17-second moan and 'Eurooope'. Very happy to see this bop in the final and never underestimate Moldova with a fun song... Very happy to see Portugal in the final too. This song has really grown on me and the performance was beautiful. The transition in the ratio was so smooth and it's nice to see Portugal qualifying after many flops. I was a bit sad to see Portugal not sing in Portuguese for the first time, but I think that risk has definitely paid off. This was a fun performance. I feel so bad for them not being able to perform live, but qualification was never in question. The performance didn't even look out of place, with it being a rehearsal. So happy to see Senhit qualify, not that this was in question. Flo Rida just added energy to the performance but did not distract from Senhit herself. I can cope with Americans in ESC if they are like Flo Rida, and not like Madonna's 'performance'. The song is amazing and San Marino will definitely get their best result every. I'm not a huge fan of this, but the performance was interesting and didn't feel like 3 minutes. This was expected as a qualifier and will do very well in the final. Also nice to see Switzerland do well after many flops. I was getting a bit worried when Greece hadn't been called out, but this qualification was expected and deserved. The song is amazing and Stefania performed it so well. The green screen was a bit messy but props to Greece for trying something completely different. Why is the EBU leaving such obvious qualifiers until last? Finland was obviously the last qualifier. After 4 ballads, the energy this brought was accentuated. This was great, although I'm not a fan of this type of music.
The song itself is pretty nice and has a nice vibe, and there was so much they could have done with this performance. But it was disappointing live and got lost, performing 2nd. The song is nice but this performance really wasn't very good tbh. It felt quite forced and without the background, this would have been nothing, which is quite disappointing. This was so dull and boring imo. Yes he had nice vocals, but so did many other acts tonight. This probably had the biggest chance of beating Moldova, but I'm much happier with Moldova in the final. What sort of attempt was this? This was pretty hideous tbh and quite cringey. A deserved nq for Poland, after their last two robberies. Alicja would have been so much better and should have been sent. I can't see why TVP chose this over her. This was pretty boring too. I almost fell asleep during this. It has a nice vibe but the performance didn't help bring it to life whatsoever. This won't really be missed in the final. Out of the non-qualifiers in this semi, I felt this would be the best to have in the final. The song is interesting, as is Samanta's voice. However, she was off-key and the performance needed dancers. This was also a big drop in energy from Finland so this was expected sadly. Hope to see Samanta again in the future. I have never really liked this tbh. It's not the worst of the semi. But this had no place qualifying so, however, I saw a small path for this but in the end, it didn't. This semi was much worse than the first. Luckily all of m top 5 of the semi made it though (again) I predicted all 10 qualifiers although I was unsure about Modlova.

I hope Albania continues to send songs in Albanian as it's so refreshing to listen to. Absolutely disagree with the second part lol! I'm used to (more or less) to hearing the language in my everyday life and let me tell you it's definitely not a beautiful language. However since Albania has still sang more in English (well rather "English") than Albanian so far I agree with the wish you're expressing.
Just like Albania, I would like to see Serbia send more songs in Serbian in the future. What are you talking about? Serbia is one of the (unfortunately very few) countries (only one in Eastern Europe) to usually sing in its own language. Only 2015 - 2017 were in English.

Switzerland to win - that is all.
As for the winner, I think it'll go one of two ways. Either voters are going to choose an upbeat song because of the current social climate (which is what I initially thought) in which I see Italy or possibly Malta winning. If not, that leaves the door open for a possible win from France or Switzerland. I don't see Ukraine winning. I think had Malta's performance in the semi final been much better, I would be confident in having them as a winner pick. I have no idea though so this will make for a VERY interesting show.
Personally, I am rooting for Israel, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland. Italy is great too but I don't want them to win just yet because they've sent so much better in the past.

Apparently the top 5 will be Italy, France, Malta, Ukraine and Switzerland (in this order). But tbh. I have my reasons to doubt a win of all of them lol: Italy: Let's be honest, they will be very high in the televoting. But Idk I can't really see them doing fantastic in the juries. Also because the similar Hungarian entry in 2018 came like 23rd if I remember correctly. France: This is the exact opposite lol. I see the juries loving her, but I really don't know about the televoting (especially in Eastern countries). Malta: The country always does fantastic with the juries so I imagine her to possibly succeed there. The televoting on the other hand is the main issue of the country. But then it's rather a televoting song so we'll see. Ukraine: Idk about how much the juries will love this. But I can see the Western countries finding this weird (which may be a benefit as well however). And that's particularly because of the singing most of us aren't used to at all. Switzerland: To me our song feels more like a juries song. But then again I may be very wrong because the somewhat similar Arcade got 260 points if you remember. It's not winning however because normally the winning song is completely different from its predecessor. Hope I was able to get my points across lol. But anyway I wish everyone a happy Eurovision final. It'll be interesting even though Italy is currently leading the winning percentage with 28 % and 11 % ahead aka has quite run away.

That came to my mind shortly after posting, but had no idea how to word lol.
I'm disappointed in my people on Instagram. I'm following like 20 European guys who are mostly gay lol - and it seems like none of them (leaving Sandhia'a brother aside) will be watching it.
