Also, this entry in my opinion is probably a sign of things to come; we might as well see a lot of Maneskin copycats in the coming months, please , please , please , don't go in that direction. We already have one Maneskin. could we get a couple of rock songs in the coming year? probablywill all or any of them sound like Måneskin? unless they're legitimately try to copy them to the core and up, absolutely not. I really think some people need to learn that rock has a massive subcategory of genres within it, and just because some broadcasters try giving rock a chance after Måneskins victory, doesn't necessarily mean that they're outright trying to copy whatever success Måneskin had last year (if anything, we're getting more from an underrepresented genre, that can't suddenly be a bad thing now??). I genuinely don't think anyone can look at Intelligent Music Project, listen to their music, and then say with a straight face that this has ANY form of similarities to Måneskin, besides the fact that they both do music within the rock genre. and if eurofans are actually that petty with details to compare two completely different acts/songs, then maybe some people need to really discover more genres, because this is just sad. and if the rock-craze of next year means that we're gonna send something that isn't general radio pop, then hell to the yes Sweden BY ALL MEANS send any of our rock acts, thank you.

Amen to this Honestly a Swedish rock entry would be great to see after a long time last time being i think in 2007? As a fan of the genre, i definitely do not have a problem with it as long as the songs are good and all. But also, because i love a good variety of genres and song styles represented in ESC even if i may not always be a fan of the entries does mean i do not appreciate it

I'm not saying don't send a rock song in general, just don't send a song that sounds like a Maneskin song. Yes, can send a rock song next year, but I'm not saying it's a must. That's just my opinion. But if that will happen, maybe let's have at it. There are some countries that I think should give it a try, but not remind us of a familiar tune, maybe or ?

It's consistently okay. Not outstanding. The fact this song already falls into the "rock" umbrella means it's not guaranteed to win. No two consecutive winning songs sound the same or give off the same vibe when you look at the winning songs of the past decade. Juries will not pay attention to it, but maybe televote could be their most salvageable path to qualification?

Let me give my two stotinki (Bulgarian currency cents teehee) on this monstrosity (since I wasn't in the discord so you couldn't witness my meltdown) The person behind this band is a doctor who is also a "businessman, philanthropist, and patron of the arts" (quoted from Wikipedia which he probably did himself so you can already see the superiority complex is astronomical). Because BNT is on the verge of bankruptcy and cannot afford to pay for our ESC participation, they seek out financially stable artists. Victoria had her participation for 2020 and 2021 paid by someone else (don't get me started on that...) but that was fine as they genuinely put in some effort - promo, interaction with fans, high budget, foreign songwriters. Now, the 2022 song is entirely written and produced by that said businessman. An alleged doctor with no musical knowledge essentially. It's almost giving as if he's trying to realise his failed music dreams or something. So long story short, he paid BNT and knocked out every other more worthy artist that had submitted. There were some names floating around some months ago. We don't know what happened behind closed doors but the previous team (that was literally comprised of fucking fans because BNT is so inept) that was responsible for the success of our participation post-2016 were magically given the boot. So to add 2 and 2 together, the old team were not happy with this hence why they were kicked out. What's also interesting is that this group announced their participation back in September of this year, long before any official announcement from BNT or ESC so the choice had been made by then. For fucks sake, the music and lyrics are written by him AND he has no music background or knowledge hence why the track sounds like utter shit. A revamp is not happening as that would hurt Vrabevski's ego. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milen_VrabevskiThis song doesn't represent me or my county, but the interests of Vrabevski. I mean, when I was in Sofia in December 2021 I saw a fucking billboard with a fucking quote of his. Cringe. Thankfully, the international response has been negative, as expected. I'd advise you to not support this but then again, no one is supporting this sad excuse of a song in the first place. One thing that bothers me tho, is the comparison to Måneskin. Most ESC fans don't listen to anything outside of Eurovision so their only idea of rock are Måneskin, Lordi or that Cyprus 2016 song. That said, Intention is a sad excuse of not only rong, but music as well. Calling it 'dad rock' is offenssive to actual good dad rock. The singer's vocals are also abysmally bad and not strong enough for the type of music they're doing. And by the way, what I've noticed with the polls that Anes puts in every country thread, is that some people are trolling the poll. Like the one vote for here (or the Moldovan song). It's not that big of a deal but it has a result on the forum top imo.
