Austria Dargaard - "In The Omnipresence Of Death"Timeslot: possibly 4:24+
if possible, please use this video for the mp3
I got the painting from Romania ( i.imgur.com/vXJWTWP.jpeg ; keywords: valley, peasants, blood, dead, horror) and ngl, I found it difficult to find a suitable entry for it as none of the candidates in my Retro WWWSC playlist seemed to match the painting or the given keywords, so I had to do some research which wasn't too successful.
By coincidence I just found this group + song, and I think/hope the song title and maybe also the atmosphere of the song do the painting justice Dargaard is an Austrian neoclassical dark wave band, the song was released on an album in 2001.
Interesting enough the lyrics of this track are fully in Latin. According to a comment they seem to be taken from a text of the Roman poet Horace.

SPAIN Marta Sánchez - Amor Perdido TIMESLOT: 2:14+ The painting I was given is "Les Amants", which talks about desiring someone you don't really know, about desiring and loving someone that is not real. "Amor perdido" talks about a love that is not real, about a "lost love" that turned out to be fiction and never existed and will never exist. We can see that in some of the verses of the song:
A veces pienso que no fue real El eco de un eco nada más A veces siento esa sensación De clásica historia de ficción
Sometimes I think it was not real, the eco of an eco and nothing else. Sometimes I have this feeling of a classical science fiction story
Moreover, as Marta tells in her song, love is a gift of an unknown person, a love that only appears at night shaped like a ghost, and that's why you have to let your imagination fly and listen to the sound of your voice. In the painting, we can see two lovers covered with a white sheet, which can be a methaphor of the unknown love, and a paralelism of the figure of a ghost. "Amor Perdido" talks about a love that turns into deception and frustration, and when it comes back, it does that as a "Fantasma sin formas y sin luz" (A ghost without shape and with no light).

I got The Kiss by Francesco Hayez I've decided to send Magnifico once again as he has a perfect song (imo) for this painting. The title is 24000 Kisses. It's a song about love, but the lyrics are not romantic. Interestingly the chorus of the song happens to be partly in Italian as he never says the title in Slovene. The song was released in 1994. Magnifico - 24000 Poljubov (24000 Kisses) Hope you like it

My entry:
Francine Jordi - Halt mich noch einmal ( Hold me one last time) Timeslot: 0:48+ or 2:40+ Francine Jordi
I was given the image Autorretrato con collar de espinas by Frida Kahlo to get something suitable. At first I was thinking of getting something rock-ish (because of the keyword "thorns") and when that didn't work changed to "a sad love song by a female vocalist". Via some random album compilation I then found this song that I didn't know before. The song's lyrics are telling the story that Francine and her beloved one are at the train station (track 7 - yes that's mentioned in the lyrics) where he's about to get on the train to leave to a faraway place and they won't see each other for a long time. The singer also ask for him to not forget her and is telling how much she's going to miss him. I'm not any good at interpreting things in general (but I believe it fulfills quite a few of the requirements) so I hope you'll like this. Btw. this also marks Francine Jordi's second participation in Retro Wwwsc. She's placed 13th in a group entry 58 editions ago.

And I had this version planned for edition #126 - I guess I need to replace it now...

Actually the Slovene song only says "24mila baci" in Italian, the rest is in slovene but doesn't sound like a cover at all to my ears (and I'm italian).

PHILIPPINES
"Maalaala Mo Kaya" (Would You Remember) - Dulce 2:46+
(not to be confused with the Mexican singer Dulce) IMAGE 1 IMAGE 2
Focus keywords: memory, life, persistence (from the painting's title)
A challenging prompt. I agree with ayzelto in associating "The Persistence of Memory" with life and memories because Dali illustrated it so cleverly. After some searching, I fortunately recalled an old song title I knew from my childhood associated with remembrance. It's a love song, but she sings about a love that "will never fade," a strong feeling that persists. She sings about an oath that her lover made, an important memory that is the root of the love she is feeling. She sings about an enduring love that she will take to the grave, which highlights how important love is in her life.
Below are the lyrics in Filipino with the most accurate English translation. (SOURCE)
Would you remember your oath to me That your love would never fade If you want to understand, open my heart Only your picture is hidden there
Wouldn’t your love change? Would you really be my love till the grave?
O, how delicious life is especially with someone to love The joy in my heart will nevermore vanish This was a little stressful, but I hope it's accepted.
