Science is reaching Alaska.
Formulas are written while some things stay deeply hidden
Anchorage ☆ 6th June 2023
After absolutely tragic first non-qualification since it’s debut and also the lowest viewers number the northernmost state ever achieved last edition, the broadcaster Alaska Rural Communications Service (ARCS) highly hesiated to withdraw from the contest. Alaska Daily News reported that the state is now facing even harsher financial support crisis - after the withdrawal of Buckingham family’s support . "Our household will no longer fund the participation anymore. How dare you robbed my precious sister." - Celeste Buckingham stated. Celeste, however, will still work as our representative and she is ready to present our next representative. She will bring us to the world of Physics, the world of Science - please welcome ...
Emma Hill
★ Emma Hill is an Alaskan singer born in Anchorage, the capital. She grew up in the small village of Sleetmute, located in the center of Alaska. From her roots to her worldwide travels, Emma has worked hard to secure a name for herself as a force in the music world. With the addition of Daste’s expansive talent, the pair have consistently produced music that speaks to the soul. With the release of Magnesium Dream it feels like the duo is making a definitive statement.
★ In early 2007 fate brought Emma and Bryan Daste together via a Craigslist ad. Daste was a recording engineer at Magic Closet Studios in Portland, and Hill had come in to record her first professional demos after a recent move from her home state of Alaska. These days Emma returned to her hometown and resides in Anchorage. While writing songs that are emotionally charged and lyrically focused has always been Hill’s passion, with Dreams she has pushed her boundaries with genre, vulnerability, and writing style more than ever before. On June 6, she was announced as the Alaskan representative at the 9th Own USAvision Song Contest. She promised us to bring something truly unique to the table as she will perform a discussion on Science and Physics on the stage - with the song…

★ Some Thing Stays Deeply Hidden is a song inspired from and dedicated to the Philadelphian physician Sean M. Carroll. He is is a renowned theoretical physicist and cosmologist known for his extensive research in various areas, including cosmology, field theory, and gravitation theory. His work covers violations of Lorentz invariance, closed timelike curves, topological defects, dark energy, modifications of general relativity, quantum mechanics, and the arrow of time. Carroll's notable contributions include pioneering the study of f(R) gravity in cosmology and proposing a statistically time-symmetric universe with recurrent cosmic inflation. He has also examined foundational issues in cosmology, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and complexity. In 2017, Carroll presented an argument against certain cosmological models, highlighting their cognitive instability.
★ Emma was invited to perform a song for an episode focusing on Sean Carroll, hosted by Italy-based british podcast format Podsongs. The song title is based on a non-fictional book Carroll wrote back then in 2019 called Something Deeply Hidden. In this book, Carroll examined the reasons why people misunderstand quantum mechanics and advocates a version of the many-worlds interpretation, while objecting to the views often grouped together as the Copenhagen interpretation. Emma will interpret the story about such discussions with her calming voice under the name of Alaska at the 9th Own USAvision Song Contest held in Ohio.
Best of luck to Emma and the lover of Science! ☆
