FORMULA RECAP Breitling Achróan Grand Prix Teravír - Welcome to Achróa and Teravír for a new edition of Race Recap. This time we're recapping what happened during the Breitling Achróan Grand Prix around the Desyeux Circuit of Voldarea
DRIVER NEWS
For the ninth race of the season, we are starting with driver news rather than the Qualifying report. This comes at the behest of Team LH who had a driver swap in the break between Tsikinía and Achróa. Due to an injury sustained outside of the race weekend, Timur Meredow will have to sit out for the remainder of the season. Formula Fantasia wishes him all the best and most of all a quick recovery so that we can see him back in the car for next season. Meredow has been replaced by Team LH test driver Gael Montreal who will race alongside Bent Arneson until the season finale in Lakadamia.
QUALIFYINGNow we return to our regularly scheduled programming by taking a look at what happened during Qualifying. It was a more or less standard round of qualifying with very few things of note happening. The biggest surprise of Qualifying belonged to Aignan Grall (Thunderbolt) who failed to advance to Q3, instead we saw Meech Reeves (Price-Houghton) make a return to the final stage of Qualifying after having last competed in Q3 in Dýria. Pole Position went to Leonardo Tulipani (Quadrant) with his teammate Svenn Thoe lining up next to him, effectively swapping positions from Qualifying in Tsikinía.
This is how the Top 10 lined up for the Breitling Achróan Grand Prix:
RACEDAY - TOP 3 68 laps around the Desyeux Circuit of Voldarea was the challenge on Raceday. The driver finishing the challenge fastest and thus winning the Achróan Grand Prix was polesitter Leonardo Tulipani (Quadrant) repeating what he did back in Pohunskia by starting and finishing the race in P1. He was joined on the podium by Angeline Chauveau (Pyrenee) in P2 overtaking Svenn Thoe (Quadrant) who also joined the podium in P3. Other notable races were driven by Miyano Katsuhiko (jm Racing) who turned a not so stellar P19 qualifying result into a P5 finish, gaining valuable points for himself and the team and allowing jm Racing to jump Scuderia di Stella in the Constructors Championship. Meech Reeves (Price-Houghton) built on his successful Qualifying result by finishing P6, Leonardo Garcia (Aurora GP) turned his P16 start into a P7 finish while Juan Carlos Sáenz (MV Motorsport) finished P8 from a P14 start, overtaking teammate Morikawa Utako in the process. Congratulations to all drivers.RACEDAY - RESULTThis is how all drivers finished the Breitling Achróan Grand Prix: CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS After nine races Svenn Thoe leads the Drivers Championship with 158 points ahead of Angeline Chauveau (149), Ludovic Bruneau (137), Leonardo Tulipani (121) and Bent Arneson (98).The Constructors Championship is lead by Quadrant Racing with 279 points ahead of Pyrenee F1 Team (171 points), Red Dragon Racing Team (152 points), Team LH (108 points) and Thunderbolt F1 (88 points).
