SENEGALESE ENTRY We're pleased with our 8th final in a row and 13th final in general, thanks to france Awa Imani with Cyril M. and Iza, and now we're hopefully getting our 9th final in a row.
Investigating the Senegalese industry RTS found this young woman who has been growing up lately in the country, and decided she's perfect to represent us this edition, please welcome:
Astar is an upcoming artist, songwriter, actress, designer, philanthropist and entrepreneur. She has performed around the world and received many awards for her music, academic achievements, and community service. She arrived with her mother in Senegal at an early age where she benefited from a solid education. All her childhood, Astar was cradled in the musical universe through her mother who loved music.
At 9 years old, she attracted many brands and began to appear in commercials thanks to her stage presence, her energy, and her beauty. At 11, Astar released her first song that revealed the start of a promising career receiving an abundance of love and support from the Senegalese. She begins stage performances everywhere around her country. Part of her experience was the big opportunities she had such as being nominated for children's ambassador at the Universal EXPO Milano in Italy, getting nominated for the Now United global competition organized by Simon Fuller, and singing the official anthem of the 26th edition of FIBA women's Afrobasket in 2019.
