Following a change in the 
Croatian Delegation, it can now be revealed that the next hopeful representing the Balkan nation in the 
North Vision Song Contest 44 has been found!
After careful considerations for the Pre-Qualification Round, it was decided to opt for a talent that had their name heard not only in the home country, but also in the whole region. Without any further ado, the artist representing Croatia next edition is...
ĐANA!
Đana Smajo, commonly known simply as Đana, is a Croatian singer, coming from the beautiful sea city of Split, Dalmatia. Music followed her life since the childhood, with Đana participating in various national singing competitions, usually becoming one of the winners.
After moving to Zagreb, where Smajo studied 
French and 
Portuguese, she decided to participate in a famous ex-Yugoslavian music show 
IDJShow, where she was part of Nataša Bekvalac team. Eventually, Đana won the IDJShow, becoming the first Croatian person to do so, beating a well-known face to the NVSC fans, 
Barbara Popovič, who came second last edition with her song "Vatrena". Due to her successful career in the region, she moved to Belgrade in 2024.
For the forty-fourth edition of the contest, Đana will perform "Alarmantno" ("Alarming"), a song about, as Đana herself says, a girl that loses her mind for a guy and completely changes her behavior to attract him. The team behind HRT praises such behavior. Go girl, get that man! And maybe more. As for the song, this banger in Serbian was written by Marko Gajić and Vuksan Bilanović. Let's stay hopeful that they made a good job producing this whoppa, which will, hopefully, bring Croatia back to the final!
